Interesting design. This two-piece tool appears to let you replace the business end if that 3/8s opening ever widens with frequent use (as these filter cups tend to do). Very clever.

That's why I'm going to be using the 15/16" socket. I figure it will be less stress than using a 3/8" drive socket wrench. Thanks for watching!

@@davidgpo - That’s definitely the best way! I only use the 3/8s opening when the cup gets stuck on the filter housing; a long extension and a little wiggling is usually the cure for that.

What’s cool is I can use it for my wife’s 2022 Highlander, my sisters 2023 rav4 and my 2024 Camry.
