For anyone who might put off cleaning their fridge because you might be overwhelmed I have a tip that helped me. Just clean one shelf or drawer that day. Or just wipe a shelf or two without removing everything... Just lifting things up out of the way while you wipe. I used to suffer from anxiety and this strategy helped me so much. "Don't let perfection be the enemy of good."

I try to clean out the fridge weekly on sun before going to store & before trash day. I try to have categories for food to go back. It takes a team effort to keep it up. Life is busy.

Yes, we all fall behind and can't keep up the perfectly cleaned home. I'm in Australia, so it's a world wide mum thing. I have an elderly mother to look after, work full time, have grandchildren. I'm glad that you normalise it all. You are an encourager.

Once a week I make a hodgepodge meal of all kinds of leftover meats/sides/condiments. That helps to keep the fridge a bit less full. Also, I bought some dollar tree plastic locker bins for my freezer drawers to corral frozen items. Three of them fit perfectly in each of my freezer drawers.

For once I can feel smug. I cleaned my fridge from top to bottom two days ago. This was only after I found something in the vegie drawer that was once solid, now liquid. I still don't know what it was.

Sophia, I have this same refrigerator. When we purchased it, I thought it was larger or at least the cubic feet said that, but I just can't get as much stuff in this frig. I also had issues with cleaning under the glass large bottom shelf. I didn't know I could take the clips out????? I just know they are expensive to replace when they break. I'm done with replacing them now that I've seen what you do with that shelf. This was a funny, honest, loving video. Thanks so much for sharing.

Well, this video was timely. I recently realized it's been quite a while since I gave my fridge a thorough cleaning. I live alone so have no excuses for maintaining it. I have been fairly good about tossing things. There's no way I'd hold a cheesecake that long in my freezer. It's my FAVORITE dessert! I liked that brush tip you gave us. Or a toothbrush would work. I think the main reason I put off cleaning my fridge is dismantling it to get into all the nooks and crannies. If I'm honest, I think it's been a couple years since I last cleaned it. The oven. Ugh! Last time I tried to clean it (it's a self-cleaning oven) I messed up something and had to search the internet to reboot it. I never tried after that and it's now a crime scene.

I just deep cleaned out my fridge the other day, embarrassed to say I had some fruit flies in there (something spilled) Feels good to have a super clean fridge again. Even though I hate going to store all the time it does help to have less in the fridge. Plus I bought organizers for fridge a while back ago and it helps! I still need to do deep clean the freezer! 🤪

I recently cleaned my upper freezer haven’t done it in a couple of years. It was horrendous. I keep the bottom fridge cleaned out at least every month, but my freezer!? Long over due. 😬 this has motivated me to do a fridge clean out. I dread it, but it sure feels good once it’s done. Now, if could just get motivated to do the deep freeze!!!😬🤷🏼‍♀️

I have the some similar fridge (minus your extra drawer below) I had to remove the glass to clean that you talked about in this video because something spilled. I was so never to remove it because that’s a big sheet of glass and it’s kinda thin. But I didn’t break it!!! Wahoo! 💜🍃💜🍃💜

Sophia, I clean the strawberry/produce plastic containers and use them in the fridge as containers. In your case, you can put your lemons in one of those. Just a friendly suggestion. Thanks for tip on removing the bottom glass shelf, need to try that next time. Love your personality and creativity!

I reuse cardboard food packaging, for example cereal boxes and such, to organize everything in my house. Just put contact paper over them and you'll have a nicer looking organizational tool! I don't bother with contact paper these days. I just cut off the tops of the boxes, trim them down and arrange them in a way to maximize the space and I can see everything at a glance.

Yup, when I couldn't stand the nastiness any longer, it used to take me 2 hours to clean frig. With Fly Lady, I check frig and appliances monthly. Now , I mostly just do touch ups and I purge food. Sometimes I have to take out & wash shelves, but not very often.

Same here, 5 minutes on a Friday before my groceries are delivered. I just quickly go through my fridge, throw out what's gross and do a quick wipe down. Flylady is awesome in keeping a routine! It saves me loads of time.

What a motivation to watch this video of cleaning and reorganizing the fridge! We store more things in the fridge during warm months, drinks, fruits and produce, and it is packed. I try to transfer the small leftover in big bottles/jars to small ones to make more space. Make sure to label the new containers.

I try to put date on items so i can see & use it or toss it. It helps to use up the older items instead of the newest- trying to decrease food waste.

I take everything out of the box's before putting it into the freezer as the box's take up so much space, I have found empty box's in the past at the bottom of the freezer. If I get to clean my fridge /freezer 3 times a year then I'm doing great.

Thank you so much for “normalizing” not having a Pinterest perfect house. I used to watch some of these girls cleaning and decorating in their slippers and beating myself up because why couldn’t I do that, then realized that I’m not in my home like they are (I have a full time job and other commitments) and my life isn’t like theirs, so I stopped watching so I would stop comparing. My fridge id currently dirty too. It isn't as full as yours, it is just sticky, and the shelves need to be wiped the the empty onion bag and onion papers need to be cleaned, etc.

I had to use a scraper to get maple syrup out of my fridge a few weeks ago 🥴 I also found a cucumber that was basically liquid. It happens!!

Great job. My fridge was worse than yours. It needed to be deep cleaned in October and I finally got to it in June. Needless to say there were a lot of science experiments in there. My husband has the charming habit of leaving open soda cans in the fridge that get spilled. I want things in my house to get cleaned but I don’t want to do it after being married for over 50 years. Housework is NEVERDONE. No end to it. I remember what cleaning was like in the 1950s and I think we really clean the same way. Not much improvement.

I am a full-time homemaker with no young children in the house anymore, and my fridge and freezer are still my toughest organization area in the house. It is a medium sized fridge and it would help if I could fit a larger one, but I’d bet there would still be issues.

As a former band mom I can relate to the fundraisers. Ours was cookie dough, when I sold my house I found cookie dough in my freezer that was at least five years old.😂😂😂😂

Sophia, I was talking to my niece about this the other day, your children wont actually keep their rooms clean or the house until they live on their own, that is just the facts. Secondly, if the family does help to clean, you know its not the same level of clean that you would do so you would end up doing it over again anyway. These are the facts, so yeah, you do end up doing the lions share of cleaning. The best part, and when you get your revenge, is when your children have children and complain that their kids can walk by a mess and not look twice at it, then you can rub your hands together and laugh maniacally. = )

I have to keep my fridge clean and organized because that is where my oldest's IgG medication is stored for her weekly subcutaneous infusions. Because of her medical needs, the home has to be cleaned a lot. Not something I want to do but her health is a priority so I clean. She deserve a healthy, put together home to be safe ❤ I am a mom of 2 disabled, medically complex teens so my priorities are different. Does your state have composting or do you do it for your garden? My state just started (yay!) so I have a bin that I take to one of several locations until pick up is figured out. It really helps with food waste. Maybe you should do a weekly meal plan so items don't go to waste and then at the end of the week have produce turned into a meal or two so you can eat them than waste them. Food insecurity is a big problem now so I really try to not waste food and if there isn't something I can get to, I offer up in a free gifting group to a family in need. Win win!

Just an idea, would it not be easier to eat everything up, run everything down and defrost before cleaning. It would save taking everything out and then restocking x

I sort my fridge and freezer once or twice a month, If you have to peel the food out probably not a good sign, and was that a bandage I saw in the cheese lunchmeat drawer? I’m glad your not embarrassed. You work too hard as is. I’m retired and I don’t know how I did it! Your home is clean sweetie. I like your Ref. Better than mine. I ordered the pretty vac. I love it. A hot item on internet is the New bissell little green Mach. Hot.feature. Do you have one? If not I wish they would send you one for review! Your the Best! I just had 15 teeth extracted in 1 day. A lot of pain. Ugh!

I can't clean all that much cleaning right now. My husband has been in the hospital. For a week & 2 days. Had surgery on both Achilles tendon on both ankles. I have to attend to him. I have to take him & your son that lives with us too they foot Dr. I have to get him appointment with ourfamily Dr. It lift up to me to take them to the Des.

I do that too every week ( or every other) but not deep clean it. Just go through everything straighten it and wipe down if needed. I only deep clean every few months? 6 months?
