Beautiful, inspiration for sure. I play this on Tenor sax. This past Dec I lost my Job. I’m 66 years old so really kind of forced into retirement as finding work as a 66 year old pilot is difficult in these times. Playing the saxophone , getting lost in the music is what helps to keep my sanity . Thank you for your inspiration.

@@Felicitysaxophonist intanto grazie a te io che mi sono studiato molti volumi del Bergonzi, ho ripreso il primo che a dir la verità non avevo mai sviluppato bene perché le combinazioni solo con una quartina sono molte. Adesso da quando parlammo di Giant Steps mi sono impostato un modo per svilupparlo e scrivermi la mia miscela di combinazioni su tutte le strutture, accordi singoli, progressioni armoniche, tournaround lunghi medi e brevissimi, poi ad associare le varianti a frammenti di brani conosciuti. Mi sta venendo un lavoro carino anche se il primo volume coi numeri inizialmente non mi era simpatico. Dopo aver sentito il tuo Giant Steps, sono partito sicuro di utilizzare quel materiale scrivendo un mio pdf per far diventare istintive le permutazioni delle frasi su ogni situazione armonica. Premetto che pero' su quel volume sono partito da 3 giorni a differenza degli altri libri. Grazie a te percio' ragazzina prodigio

@@Felicitysaxophonist da quando mi dicesti che avevi usato le permutazioni del Bergonzi ho deciso di rimetterle al primo posto, insieme gli idiomi del be-bop quindi merito tuo, del resto quando fra sassofonisti o altri musicisti si parla si tende a completarsi a vicenda, indagando sul materiale che un amico utilizza di più' o di meno per comporre gli assoli.

Felicity, was it initially your decision to start playing saxophone? I was sent to musical school to play violin like my mom, but I didn't like it much and eventually abandoned. Only at 40+ I realized I "can't help falling in love with sax". It's a pity I have lost so much time... :(

Felicity, "I Can't Help Falling In Love With You"! I adore your treatment of the song: phrasing, expression, passion and tonal quality. You remind me of one of my first heroes, Fausto Papetti, who played mainly the alto sax. Like you herein, Fausto Papetti concentrated on sound, phrasing and tonal quality. Check him out on You Tube, if it pleases you.. Fausto is long dead; would have been in his 90s, thereabout, if he were alive. Excellent, saxdiva! Go, mi amor!
