Wish I could run E85 in my R33. But sadly it's not really available here in the UK. You can order it online but it's expensive af and it's not exactly sustainable if you drive your car a fair bit.
@Tryptamine999
@Tryptamine999 3 жыл бұрын
That's why flex fuel can be so convieniant, if you do any racing with your GTR if you can afford a barrel of E85 you fill the tank for the race and any other time you drive it just run pump fuel, I got no idea how expensive E85 is in the UK but I think it's 100% worth it
@truuuupR
@truuuupR 3 жыл бұрын
@@Tryptamine999 I don't race my GTR personally. I'd love to run E85 on a special occasion but yeah, you'd have to be pretty serious about it with a fair whack of cash to fund it over here. A quick search for barrels/drums of E85 here in the UK is just short of £1,000 ($1390 USD / $1,885 Aus dollar) for 208 litres. R33 tank is 65 litres. So just over 3 full fill ups. So around £330 ($450 US/ $620 aus) a tank. An average fill up around by me with the 99octane fuel is (at a guess from memory) about £75 ($104 US / $140 Aus). So it's over 4x the price of a normal fill up at the pumps. I ain't got that kinda money to throw about every few months sadly :(

Here in my country 10-60 is used for racing (rally racing) and works great because of the beating it takes and withstands, lower grade oils (example 10-40) looses too much viscosity and pressure drops too much when hot damaging friction surfaces. 10-60 will not have that problem, however... 10-60 for a mostly street driven (mildly driven) car can rob you a small amount of power (fuel efficiency) because you wont be able to heat it up that much and its higher viscosity tends to slow down moving parts inside. So application is what really matters. A 5-50 or 5-60 would also be very interesting as the "5" would help oil get to all friction surfaces quicker when the engine is cold, preventing wear.

It would be great in your oil series to demonstrate difference in various 10w60s (and very similar weights), even if brand names blanked out. Its difficutl to decide on what 10w60 for my SR when you see the huge difference in data sheet numbers. Hpr10, hpr15, nulon 10w60, nulon racing 10w60, edge 10w60. Would be awesome

Great video! Will there be more in depth Videos coming? Would like to hear more about the adjustable cam gears. I guess for more low end and better response i have to advance the intake cam. But by how much do you recommend. Have a rips srock bottom rb30 with stock rb26 head and efr7064 (yes, i know, turbo by far too small blabla). Theoretically ex gas pressure will be greater as boost a little before 5000rpm. In this case, the more overlap of the advance intake will suffer the power? Thanx!

I beg to differ on the HICAS being junk in high power cars, in my friends R33 GTST, Hicas has kept us going straight when the DOT legal R compound tires let loose at 100km/h pushing ~600hp. If your Hicas is in great condition it helps quite a bit, combine that with boost by gear and it is way better than anything else.

@@MotiveVideo both fall in the category of tips, neither make power. Sure valve springs allow you to butvso does e85. Since you've decided to frame the video so tightly, did I miss the tricks part?

Never mind the bloody GDRs, what's your top tip for hair gel? I haven't bought any since the 1990s, what's the go these days?

First, you have to spend less time trying to be funny on your keyboard and more time doing research on the difference between gel, which Andrew doesn’t use, and styling mud 👍

@@MotiveVideo Hmm, that sounds like it would take long enough that all my hair will have fallen out by then. I'll just assume it's the same Scxhwarzkopf Taft tub of gel I used to use back in high school in the mid 90s when I had that same style.

Yeah but fades and modern mullets are for flogs..soo maybe being back the 90’s so the mainstream aren’t trying to copy broke wannabe bikies?

Somehow I missed this video. Curious to know your thoughts on the diff gears now your running a 3.2lt. I find the stock R34 gearing too short, and could do with a 7th gear.

So... say I'm making just over 550 hp. Would you suggest upgrading the front diff? It's mainly a street car but I like to party on the weekends.

Only if you are chasing lap times. There is probably other things the money is better spent on at that power level.

Won't be a big issue in the 500's, in the 700 stock front diff can get you into trouble fast
