After 3 years my moto e 2020 got really slow, I factory reset it and it was still incredibly slow, so I got a Moto G Play 2024, which has a Snapdragon 680, 4 GB of ram + 2gb of ram boost, 90hz 6.5in hole punch display, power button that's also a fingerprint reader, and corning gorilla glass 3.

I loved my Custom G3, I'm kind of sad Motorola/Lenovo got rid of the option to have the custom colors. I still have it in my collection of Motorola phones, but sadly the charge ports on the G3 where a common failures like mine, and it cause the phone to get super hot, so I had to replace it early with a Moto G4 play. These days I rock a Moto G Power, but I'm looking to buy a Moto E 2020 for my mother who needs a solid basic phone. I was looking at the consumer cellular version for $80USD then getting it unlocked for another $9USD to save some cash, but they seem to be out of stock all over the place.

Here's the thing. Just by going from 720p to 1080p you can instantly have a much larger buyer base. Because people go oh man just 720p geez. It's not like 200$ phones don't have 1080p displays. Just by that tiny upgrade, they could've done so well. This is why moto is missing out in budget markets. There's just so much competition

2gb's of ram even on a $150 phone is pretty wack. That's what I would have expected in 2018, they would have been better with 3gb and 4gb. Rather than 2gb and 3gb, it's nice they at least upgraded the soc's from a few years back.
