Im still waiting for the Edge '22 update from A'12. Idk if its bcus the A'12 runs so good on the phone that Motorola hasn't fully sent out many OS updates for it, but as long as I haven't wasted my time & money by recently purchasing the phone I can stick it out a lil bit longer.

Right on. Strikes at the heart of Moto's real problem: consistency. Consistency in product support & updates. Consistency in price. The only reason why I don't think the Edge/Edge+ isn't worth the same as the latest Sammy S or G Pixel is consistency. And they can't wait until after people start buying in to change this. They should have done it yesterday. Five years of guaranteed solid support. The hardware is there; they just need to establish a reputation of providing good support.

It sounds as if this phone is a smoking deal as it's being sold for 350 right now. The biggest issue is how Motorola handles the software updates for a phone that beats flagships in some areas. Especially in terms of the refresh rate, max wattage, and the panel. The chipset might be a bit anemic, but realistically. Unless you're trying to emulate some heavy stuff. You're not going to be doing much, but even still it can handle most PS2 games with ease.

Got this device in Canada from Koodo for $0 up front and $10 monthly for 2 years, that's $240 CAD. I've been using this phone as my daily driver for over 4 months now and it's a solid device. The display is vibrant, and the dual speakers provide great sound quality, perfect for media consumption. Overall, a great experience , however battery life is not that great .

How do the cameras ln this compare to the thinkphone or Stylus 5G? Also hate the curved screen but wverything else about this is perfect. Ideally theyd put a snapdragon in this and go back to flat screen and its be a perfect midranger

Agreed on the weight and price. Reminds me of my Droid Maxx Dev edition. I bought one with a cracked camera lens for $350. Haven't looked back yet. Bootloader unlock voids warranty, so I likely won't buy their new one.

Would you rather have Edge 40 and A54? The difference is 60-70 dollars in my country (Edge is, of course, the more expensive one) and I like to stick to one device for longer peeiod of time, 4-5 years

I wish Motorola bucked copycat trends by keeping a microSD card slot and a 3.5 jack on a phone like this. Really great they put 512gb storage on board. I found it under $399. That caught my eye to check it out.

Watching this on my Moto edge 2023. I got it for $350 and I can say it's one of the best phone deals imo. Cameras are pretty good with lots of settings/modes to play around with (pro mode, slow-mo etc.). For gaming, it's definitely fine with the dimensity 7030 (I use this phone for gaming mostly), but for some reason it seems to lock genshin impact at 30fps by default no matter which graphic settings I change, which is a bit weird considering it can run other games like honkai star rail 60fps medium settings just fine. Even then it's still fine enough for me. Battery life is solid enough for the price range. Overall I'd say this phone is probably worth at max $450, anything higher and you're losing value. If you can get it at $350, I definitely recommend it unless something better comes out around that price point.

Picked this up at my local Best Buy for $350. Great phone for the price! I with you Steve on the Always on Display it's the only complaint I have on the phone. Fast performance. No problem switching between apps. Amazing display! Great to see Motorola step up!

Huh? It launched at $500, so I get it goes on sale often, but the OnePlus 12R has a SD8G2, so yeah, I think it's a little more powerful. We can argue about Tensor all we want...the Pixel 8a has a TG3. Easy with the equivalent CPU.

This would be a great phone if it stayed at $349 and Motorola updated their phones way longer. 2 OS updates and 3 years of security updates in 2024 is laughable when compared to Samsung and Pixels. The sad thing is, I’ve owned all 3 of those brands and I actually prefer the Motorola setup because it’s less bloatware than Samsung and more stable than Pixels. Lenovo just can’t understand that consumers want Motorola phones that will last longer. How hard can it really be to offer 4 OS and at least 5 years of security updates? Motorola is also sketchy on timely updates too with very inconsistent history. Hopefully soon Motorola will up their update game because then, they really will offer the best value for cost ratio.

in love with this. it was THE hype in India. I got mine in the pantone Viva Magenta. beautiful display. cameras (front especially) should have been better on the Moto Edge 40, but the things it is giving at that price, are amazing!

They definitely should have kept the price starting out I would say roughly maybe 450 then dropped it to 350 the materials on the front the glass definitely inferior had this device for 2 days and somehow it's like a cat went to town on this front screen and I'm talking some real noticeable scratches so they were already out of bounds charges $600 for inferior materials on the front

Just got back into the Motorola ecosystem with the 2023 g stylus 5g. Love the phone! 6 gen 1 is snappy & responsive. Really good speakers bright display. Cameras are ok & charging is slow but still a good phone. Paid $140 through Cricket.

So, Motorola Edge Plus 2023 just got Android 14 and sadly basically nothing new. A lot of the Motorola built software has Android 9 era styling. All of the same default widgets which feel like they've been around for several years, not even a decent default Weather app. All of the MyUX stuff I actually liked at first has grown old, no new wallpapers, no new customization, and no new lock screen designs. This operating system does not seem to be competitive with Google Pixel, OneUI, or ColorOS/OxygenOS in terms of design and features. I was a big advocate for Motorola but if they cannot even make a new operating system.... I have my doubts about the phone. So, I am trading it in for a OnePlus 12. I couldn't imagine updating to the newest Motorola flagship this year if it ships with this uninspired software.

Be thankful you’re not living in Canada. We are being ripped off by the all the big internet providers You have to pay extra if you exceed your high speed limit?? It’s not uncommon to get a 150.00 phone bill . Average phone that approaches flagship territory. 1700.00 . I would say , getting any 2023 Or 2024 phone for about 1200.00 is a helluva bargain .

Great phone but the screen is garbage, I should have got a screen protector my fault but come on I've already got a little scratches and a small divot. And by the way I had one of the older versions of Samsung Fe what a piece of garbage Wi-Fi stopped working before the 2-year mark, I got the Motorola for 349 on sale plus a trade-in of $100 what a deal.
