Yes but the difference is one runs android, which will run like shit with 1gb. Whereas the iPhone runs flawlessly with that amount of ram with iOS.

Only the 6+ bends with a non normal amount of pressure. Only a few of the millions of iPhones bent without that amount of pressure, which you would expect since it may have manufacturing inconsistencies. I'd rather take the risk than have a 1 inch thick ugly phone with an ugly OS.

bbarook15 bbarook15 you don't seem to understand. IOS Is locked in every way. My android can look like iOS if I want it to. If my device falls behind in operating systems, I can get a custom ROM. An unofficial os. And look at the iPod 4. All lonely on iOS 6. And don't accuse me of being totally blind to the pros of IPhones. I respect the "just working" of it and the smoothness, simplicity, and beauty of iOS. Though iOS 8 is just stupid. Adding a few apps and calling it an update is stupid.

John Matthews iOS has a very locked down OS, but what's amazing is how well and efficient the OS works without lagging with such low end hardware. iPhone 6's and their 720p bull crap XD

junrocks you fail to see my opinion. The os is optimized to the hardware. The os is created specifically for the devices. Android goes to so many devices. IOS is optimized and balanced between the hardware and software.

I have the dual sim version of the Moto G, first version (2013). I love that phone, it's snappy and I get a long time usage from the battery. The only thing it lacks is.. more space. The only thing I envy of this years's Moto G is that micro-sd card slot. I would love to have that on my Moto G

there were two separate versions of the Moto G released within the last year. The original and then a 4G Version (it also had an SD card slot)

there were a couple of versions of the moto g (2013), mine is without sd card too. but there are versions with. only the 4g has it i believe, but they are with bigger price tag as well if i'm not mistaken. so it is still a bummer that this year's version have the slot for the same price... for more storage i use OTG flash drive. i use the corsair voyager go. it's pretty usefull, it has both USB 3.0 and otg microUSB 2.0. so i use it as standard flash drive for whatever documents or files i want to carry with me or transfer from PC to PC and for expandable storage for my phone and tablet.

I have a moto g 1st gen and i am looking towards the 2nd gen. The only thing stopping me is the reviews on the screen, software, and the speakers which really dont matter to me. I'm assuming kitkat will be loaded on my phone that I should be getting real soon. I heard good things and bad things about lollipop on this phone. Some people are complaining about the declining battery hour life since updating to lollipop. Is it true? I like lollipop design but I don't want to update it to lollipop if it sacrifices lot of battery power. Should I just stay with kitkat or go for lollipop?

I love my 2013 Moto G, although I got it in June, 2 weeks before the 4g version lol it does everything I need it too, and when I need more I use my Nexus 7 2013. Coming from a Galaxy S3 mini this phone is a relevation, got so annoyed with touchwiz. Such a pleasure to use stock android :-)

I have a Moto X 2014, and it really is a great phone. One thing regarding Lahn's statement about the Moto G "only" having 1GB of RAM is that iPhone's have been running on 1GB of RAM for a couple of years now. That $1,000 128GB iPhone 6+ has just 1GB of RAM. Yet., nobody ever complains about that. I am very much in the Android camp when it comes to phones, but there is something to be said about the smoothness of the iOS platform that allows their phones to operate well with less when it comes to RAM. Now, do I think it justifies paying $600 more for that smoothness? No way.

Screen is a victim of light bleeding and lag is ever present. I own a Sony xperia z3 compact, it's the best purchase I've made. It offers way better specs than the ip6 for cheaper. There is something called "value for money". I'm not paying 1000 bucks for a iNexus 4. I would rather pay $640 for a fast, feature packed device. The ipod 4 was released in 2011 I think and it never got ios 7, is that long lasting? The iPhone 4s is laggy as fuck. I've played with my friend's 4s so don't say anything about not trying it. The 800mhz processor is extremely outdated. Yeah, iPhones are ok, but there are better things for better prices.

Liked the previous( moto g 4g) way more than this. The new one is way too thick and the old screen size was just perfect. The stereo speakers on the phone look pretty shitty. I recommend everybody to buy the old one.

I have the 2013 Moto G and I love it's design, anyone looking to buy one I reccomend the older one as on the older one you get even more ppi than the iphone 6. But anyone looking to buy the 2014 edition I also think it's a good phone, but could have better improvements.

I am torn between all 3 versions. This one has a better camera... The previous version had LTE, but the first version probably had the best battery life, because it has the same battery as the other 2, but no LTE and a smaller screen -- yet one with the higher pixel density than we see here. Almost would rather have the 16GB original version or the LTE version of last year's than this. Which gets the best and worst battery life?

Well gsmarena did battery tests for each device and the Moto G LTE got the best battery endurance, but when they first tested the original Moto G it still had Android 4.3 while the Moto G LTE had Android 4.4. People say the camera for the first generation Moto G is pretty bad, but if you just need quick photos for like social media or something then it's good enough. With all Moto G phones don't expect amazing photos. I would say get the Moto G LTE since the battery life will be pretty much the same as the original unless you use LTE a lot. But with saying that do you use LTE data a lot? Or are you fine with HSPA+? And are you a big data user?

I got one of these a couple of days ago for £150 and am very happy with it, near enough stock Android, a decent 5 inch screen, duel sim, somewhere to stick my micro SD card and front facing stereo speakers which are nowhere near as bad as the reviewer made out. The camera and video are acceptable in a phone of this price and the battery life is fine for the average person.

In Mexico the original moto g (8gb) in a carrier (off-contract) costs around 210 to 220 us dollars and the 16 one around 250 or more, this one just because it's new and bigger, the camera has a bigger resolution will cost even more, it's awful.

Having owned the iPhone 3GS, Samsung S3 and even the 2013 model of the Moto G, the 2014 model has to be the best smartphone I've ever owned. The camera is a massive bonus, front facing speakers sound good to me for watching trailers, but when watching a series/film, I plug in my headphones. I'm looking forward to the Android update and many have said that Lollipop makes the performance better. It feels good in the hand, can easily perform the tasks I need and I also have the option for a second sim card, which is great! Apparently though there's going to be an updated Moto G with 16GB internal storage and 4G LTE connectivity!?

If you need to replace your whether flagship or budget. Its an excellent phone. It now has most of the pieces of place. You have stock, which keeps the phone running well. You have microsd for more storage, dual front speakers are still better than back facing, a nice large display to input text without much issue. A sufficient display that no one will complain about unless they were exposed to the latest flagships screens, except LG G3. I'd say if you have a Moto g. Dont upgrade. If you need a new phone. Get this one. Its worth every dollar.
