Thank you! I have a Moto G Stylus 2021 and the alarm wasn't going off. You solved my problem about one minute into your video. I just realized there is a separate volume setting for alarms and it accidentally was lowered. This phone seems to have so many more glitches than any other phone I ever had. Things "accidentally" seem to get messed up on a regular basis. I am so thankful for videos like yours!

Thank you. As a relatively new smartphone owner I have little experience, and couldn't figure this seemingly-simple issue out! I just wasn't getting sound from any media even though I've heard it before, and I kept wondering "how effing complex could this be?" I noticed when I'd press the volume buttons I would see a strange grayed-out interface appear, not the usual slider and the musical note. I explored the menus, found a weird display in the media section which either looked like the volume was totally OFF or full volume, depending when I looked, but it was _unchangeable._ I got to your second suggestion: the "hard reset." But not knowing what that does I just restarted the normal way and that did it. I could suddenly see the normal volume interface and my sound is back. I should've known from many years of computer experience that we're not just dealing with hardware, but also with _software and firmware._ Restart to the rescue once again. Thanks, man!

fix for me was to first dry Qtip with most of the cotton taken off in the aux port. Then a different clean Qtip with a bit of alcohol. very gentle. Works very nicely now...ty..

Thank you. I didn't realize the Bluetooth speaker in my car would read as a headset. So that's why it's been adjusting my volume down when I listen to my phone out of the car

None of this worked for me. What did work? > Settings > Click Sound and Vibration > Click "Do not Disturb" > Make sure it's turned off. I travel a lot and for some reason, often the planes never allow it to turn BACK ON the volume in "Do not Disturb". FYI, is you don't manually switch your phone to "airplane mode, the plane does it automatically. If you do it manually, you shouldn't have an issue.THIS IS NOT THE SAME AS THE DO NOT DISTURB OR AIRPLANE MODE CHOICE WHEN YOU SCROLL DOWN THE TOP FOR LIKE FLASHLIGHT, Bluetooth ETC.

How can I get the sound to be louder through the headphone jack opposed to Bluetooth for lossless audio? For whatever reason it’s louder through Bluetooth and mid level to quiet through the headphone jack which is head scratchingly annoying when compared to iPod 7s headphone jack which is 3x as loud. I’m not fluent whatsoever on Android and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Everyone who is confused in his video because they can't hear the sound all you have to do is reset your phone by holding the power button and then wait for it to turn back on and the sound will work

My phone is fine with music via Bluetooth headphones fine when listening through the phone speaker but when I use aux connection for the car or to connect my phone to my amplifier it's REALLY muffled and sounds terrible. This was never a problem before but seems to have started ..today. my poweramp trial ran out so I purchased the full version of the player today too not sure if this is related? Any help would be super appreciated. Just sounds really muffled and underwater-y. I've tried another aux lead as well as a pair of cheap wires earphones and the problem is there with all three so I'm confident that it's the phone and not the cables themselves. Hmm.

t/hanks , I had interupted charging ,due to the fact that charger module was not plungged into the outlet creating a on and off charge , tripping it to a mute on sound . my media would not sound but I had Phone sound , I even went to all the settings and the volumes were ok, but I viewed this video and found the mute icon and back to normal.

My husband took my phone to look for that one hidden button I once found that turned everything off, I was going to try your idea to turn off & on the power, but he found the problem that somehhow mute was on in the settings. I don't think I ever would have touched that.

My Moto G Play loud speaker just malfunctioned, with lower volume and crackly, in the middle of a video. Now all audio & video sound from the loudspeaker is lower and crackly. The earpiece speaker and external speaker jack works fine. 1.3 GB memory free.

Just did a Power / Vol Up hard restart and same problem. Did a reboot into Safe Mode and same problem. Also the "Hello Moto" typical at the beginning is now not heard at all.

I checked the Bluetooth settings after exhausting all other options. I had not utilized the Bluetooth setting menu before this happened but found that the sound system in my RV parked outside was active causing no audio from the phone. I hadn't even been in the RV for days and the sound system WAS NOT EVEN ON!!! I have no idea how this could happen but after disconnecting it I got my sound back on the phone. No luck here.. The wired earbuds receive sound OK but the other person can hardly hear me. Seems there's no sensitivity in the wired mic at all! Tried different sets of hands free wire earbuds with no luck. Any ideas anyone?

@@goatgod8038 No, I haven't unfortunately.. I have come to the conclusion that the actual socket on the phone is faulty. The reason is, my earbuds work perfectly well with my second phone. So, it's not software issue. The socket has to be replaced. The funny thing is, for music and just listening Y.T. it works fine, it seems only the microphone not connecting properly.
