Greetings: 1) I noticed Ur devise did not restart with a carrier flash screen. Did U not have a SIM installed or did it wipe the carrier software also? 2) If no SIM installed, is it recommended 2 HARD RESET with SIM installed? In this case 2 restart from Motorola / Android software then follow up with carrier software if desired? In such case a few steps short of a root.

I think after using boost mobile service for one year u can get your phone unlocked for free by calling their care.

Couldn't connect to any wifi or a specific one? Sometimes wifi router setting doesn't allow to connect. I think you should try to upgrade the android version if it's not updated or the second option is a hard reset.

I will suggest removing the Gmail account from the phone before going for the hard reset. If you don't know the screen lock then can't remove the Gmail either. Look for technicians who know how to remove it.

The main reason for asking for the pin after the reset could be the Gmail signed in if you didn't have Gmail signed in then it would have removed the pin.
