Gaurab Ghosh software is same. Dual camera are just a short period of shit. Camera on g5 is successor to g5s+. G5 has laser autofocus and 1.7 or 1.8 aperture. Rest is all same except body and screen. I wished for g5+ but ugly metal plastic design stopped me plus not a uni body.

It turn in the screen when you pass your hand in front... Always been the case since like 2012... And moto fans love it. So not sure what you are annoyed about...

Watching on my G5 Plus. I really don't think the S one is that much better than the one I have (Xt1687 version with 64/4GB) The bigger screen means less battery life. The camera in the G5 Plus is f1.7 which I think it's important to notice (even though there are two cameras on the G5S Plus, I dont think it's really worth it). Apart from that, pretty much everything else is the same, similar (but not equal) builds, fingerprint scanner gestures, gyroscope gestures, and a nearly stock android experience.

trust me the f/2.0 didn't make the camera performance of this phone worse. It's the shit software that makes it a hell lot worse, lol. Even phones with f/2.2 or narrower produce much better videos.

Yeah, 4 hours 3/4 hours of SOT is not that great for battery life. Motorola does have great standby time on thier phones. My G4 Plus last for like a week, just sitting around. My HTC U11 gets 6-7 hours SOT, watching videos, streaming music, using GPS, Bluetooth, playing video games, etc. That's impressive.

Yeah I think he is confused. The screen turns on when he pulls it out of his pockets because of the moto display, not the fingerprint reader. And this can be deactivated from the moto actions menu...

yeah I know.That's what I am saying but how is that the scanners fault?Even if you have a slow scanner if your finger touches the scanner it's gonna unlock the device either way so the fast scanner isn't really a issue,it's the way his fingers touch the phone

6 hours of use with 15 minutes of charging. I've been using this thing for a few months and I'm never buying a flagship phone ever again. This phone ( for the cost ) is friggin amazing. The camera has slow mo, the fingerprint reader is instant, the screen is FHD, there is very little bloatware, the fast charger is as good as $1000 + phones, dual sim or an SD card, full metal body, oh and it's like $240 . . . Thanks for the ride Samsung flagships but I don't need a bezel less phone anymore if it's going to cost me $1000 more than a decent midrange phone. ( for the lols I don't even consider Apple to be competition, because they suck ). This is the future of mobile devices. Motorola basically started mobile phones. I remember going camping when i was 13 that's 23 years ago, and carrying a great big heavy battery pack with a phone attached ( by a cable ) just in case something went awry. I'm drunk I should goto bed.

Imo if you don't need a fingerprint scanner you should go with the galaxy s5, which goes for 150$ refurbished, has a better camera, screen, full IP67 rating instead of "splash resistance", removable battery and can do usb 3.0 which is useful if you're transferring large files to and from your phone and pc. If you get one from a reputable re-seller you can get quite a deal.

I get your criticism, but your are much harsher than (and at odds with) many other reviewers. What other phones are there, for decent Black&White photography? (for those who do not know, when you convert a color to B+W you lose a lot of sharpness, and a pure b+w sensor lacks the bayer filter, so it is much more sensitive to light - which translates into sharper bw photos and better halftones).
