Good review. I have #314. One thing though is there is no passenger seat under the cowl or pegs either. There is a passenger seat and pegs that you can buy for around $330. I am 6' and am comfortable all day on the bike. I came from a street triple and never once regretted my purchase.

100% right Jamie. The Guzzi V7 series are great bikes to watch and ride. My V7 Classic always puts a smile on my face. This bike really feels alive. Have it since 2011 and never regretted the buy. Keep up the good spirit and ride safely!

Great review. I am thinking about buying this V7 or the new Ducati Scrambler. I had both, a V7 700 and a Duc Scrambler 350 but I didn´t drive a bike for years now after I sold these (and more often than not regretted it). I love these new retro style machines man. I am now looking for a bike that I will keep for decades to come and I love the classic, timeless aesthetics of the Guzzi...but I always enjoyed to drive the Scrambler so much more. Any recommendations of which bike to pick up? Seems like a ver< tough decision. Will try to test drive both but I am leaning towards the Guzzi atm but mainly because of that timeless aesthetics. They nailed it with this one.

I'd love to see you guys do another show with this or any other of the new V7 bikes, take it out on a sweet little weekend tour or something, and this time "with" an Arrow pipe on it, and make sure to blat it all about and capture that amazing sound for us all to enjoy! :)

There is an interview with the designer of Moto Guzzi, and Aprilia's Tuono. I think you did the interview Jamie (iirc?). Very interesting interview, and really got me into Moto Guzzi. Can't seem to find it anywhere though.

To call this bike low-average would be wrong. The fact is, the V7 Racers ride is enjoyable, comfortable and old school in many ways. To add to that, its been design by one of the best motorcycle designers around and put nothing but a smile on my face. If it was otherwise, you'd know about it and I'd say so.

Why people keep comparing it with the 50s and 60s Guzzi's? It rather is 60-70s.The first V7 was manufactured in 1967.

I had a V50ii, and sold it to get one of these, until I saw it in person and was disappointed at the fact that it was leaking oil on the showroom floor, the crazy part is it looks better in the pictures than in person. Still a cool bike but for 10 grand I think I would spend my money elsewhere.

Do your knees touch is the problem. Don't like to ride with my legs wide open if you know what I mean. Like the tuck unless dragging the knee.

Mark, get the special, equally cool factor, spoke wheels. I got the yellow and black one about a month ago. So far I've ridden it 500 miles and I love everything about the new V7. I'm used to Japanese inline 4 cylinders [1989 Honda CBR600F, 1989 Honda CBR1000F, 1992 Suzuki GSXR750 - I still own the CBR600F !], and I always wanted an Italian V-Twin, and I'm so glad I bought this. The vibration on the highway is quite a bit more than what I'm used to from the Japanese inline 4s, but it's kind of rumbly and nice. Even though I'm still breaking mine in I've ventured into the 4500 rpm range and the "flying V" vibrations dissipate quite a bit at higher revs. I don't want a full windshield, but you're probably going to want to get a fly screen at least. Search "Dart Fly Screen for Moto Guzzi V7" on eBay ! Also, not sure how the whole import/buying something like a motorcycle in the USA thing might work for you in B.C. but search Moto International. They're in Seattle at the intersection of 77th and Aurora Ave North. That's where I got mine for just $6,990 [2013 model], brand new, only 5 miles - ridden while prepping for me after I bought it. DAve Richardson is the Guzzi Man. Just a thought. www.ebay.com/itm/DART-FLYSCREEN-SCREEN-FOR-MOTO-GUZZI-V7-CLASSIC-CAFE-STONE-/131261067138?pt=UK_Motorcycle_Parts&hash=item1e8fc4ef82

Yes, the V7 Racer was among my choices. But honestly, they could have added more horses. Honestly. It's beautiful, it has style, it's really a cool motorcycle, but I ain't spending 10.000 euro to something that ONLY looks good.

Nicholas King depends on which part of the country, southern irish, no, northern... maybe. The north sound a lot more like brits because of their constant contact with them. And I was also thinking he might be irish because of the reddish brown hair but that could be a scott thing too. now people from southwest Ireland on the other hand should have black or almost black hair... like my family. It was some of his pronunciations that got me, when most Brits say "British" it seems to come out kind of harsh but his has a mild sing-songy kind of feel to it that sounds very Irish. It could very well be that its just because of most brits I've heard either have deeper voices or aren't in a good mood and he was pinging when I heard him say it, who knows.

Candleman Smith Unfortunately the HD was just officially sold, so you'll have to stick the "ignorant HD owner card" from now forth O.o. But let's take HD for a second: HD makes up nearly half of sales WORLD-WIDE (outside of scooters)...Each year they go up 3-5% in non-US sales and they own 50% in the US. They add international dealerships to their network DAILY. EVERYBODY and their brother knows that HD's are price hiked above what they're worth because of the name. HD is 112 years of proof that that marketing is what matters, bit of marketing, bit of performance, and NOTHING else... The sum of parts doesn't even remotely factor into the equation. What are you really getting at? You babble on about being a marketing man's dream and all, but seemingly fail to grasp the concept that ALL OF MOTORCYCLING is marketing, and if you think differently you're an idiot. If you buy anything other than a Jap sports bike you are SACRIFICING and aside from performance the largest factor is MARKETING. You mentioned earlier that you were an old man, so if you're an old man and you haven't learned this shit already then you're truly fucking hopeless... The V7 in general is expensive for what you get. The V7 Racer is more-so. ANY Guzzi is expensive for what you get (yet you own a Guzzi, IRONY...). The sum of the parts doesn't even REMOTELY matter for ANYTHING... Marketing and capitalism is what makes the world go 'round, and you seemed to fail at learning this. You failed at learning this, you failed that learning that all of motorcycling is marketing, you pretty much failed in every category here. We live in a world where people pay $4 for WATER sometimes and you're gonna bitch and moan about marketing...damn you're useless. When you have the right product at the right time then you can raise the price, it's LITERALLY that simple... I would say even you can grasp that, but probably not... Piss off, anybody who complains about marketing is beyond ignorant.
