Awesome video! In Guzzi Italian translation the gearbox is what we call The transmission in the west (the one by the footpegs). The transmission by Italian talk is the final drive at the rear wheel. The v7/v9 is easy to work on with the fluids, just messy as can be with that oil filter lol

This is a great idea to do them all together. Everything pretty much went like you said. However, I couldn't break that 24mm gearbox oil plug with a crowsfoot to save my life. I partially stripped one side of the hex, so I had to pull off the right exhaust and use a full 24mm socket and a big ass breaker bar. It isn't that bad to pull off the exhaust if you find a maniac put the drain plug in. Just my experience. Cheers!

Crows Foot
@thedirtyguzzi9268 Жыл бұрын
Crows Foot 22 or 24mm. I no longer have the bike so I cant check. Google 24mm Crows Foot Wrench. Hope this helps.

Awesome. What torque specs did you settle on? Manuals only give partial information. Missing: filter retaining bolt, gearbox bolt top n bottom, final drive (transmission) top n bottom?
@thedirtyguzzi92683 жыл бұрын
For the Filter Bolt 18-22Nm ( I got this from someone on the V9 Facebook page. They sent a drawing screen shot to me from a manual. The rest I got from the v9 Bobber and Roamer service manual that I downloaded for free online, Gear Box Fill 23-37Nm, Gear Box Drain 25-30Nm, Final Drive Top 25Nm, Final Drive bottom30 Nm

@@thedirtyguzzi9268 Very kind. Thank you!

The "Gear Box Fill" torque should be 23-27 Nm NOT 23-37 Nm! I was able to verify all of the other values listed through various official Moto Guzzi manuals.

How much engine oil, mission oil, and final oil do I need to put in each? 👀
@thedirtyguzzi92683 жыл бұрын
Look in the owners manual you can download online if you don’t have one. For my bike it’s 2liters for oil and I think 160-180ml for the final drive. Gearbox is 500ml I think

Did you sell your Guzzi? How did u like it? Looking into buying v7 850 stone or triumph street 900 and can't decide.
@thedirtyguzzi9268 Жыл бұрын
Yeah I sold the Guzzi after about 7000 miles. I was thinking of purchasing another V9 Bobber but after looking at the Triumphs i purchased a Triumph T120 . They both have their good points but after owning the V9 Bobber and now aTriumph I would pick the 900 Street. Quality is better in my opinion and the ride is more enjoyable. But in the end you have to ride what makes you happy.

Better unscrew the dipstick before you draine the oil nice vid thx

Yeah I noticed when I pulled the oil drain plug, but didn't care much.
@daniele.markle64283 жыл бұрын
I always loosen the dipstick but leave it screwed in, remove the drain plug, then remove the dipstick as soon as I get the plug out clear. Causes the initial gush to be a bit less while my hand is right there removing the plug.

What's going on here?? My manual says 220 mls for final drive . I just wait until the oil is just starting to run out of the filler hole .
@thedirtyguzzi92683 жыл бұрын
You will still have some gear oil left clinging onto the parts inside the final drive. Measure what’s you drain out. Trust me you will not be able to squeeze 220mls back into that final drive .
