Moto's Best Phone | Moto Edge 2022 🧐

This phone is so underrated and was mostly overlooked by the tech community here on KZbin. Crazy considering for $150, this mid range Moto phone does everything a flagship phone can do. And has most of the same type of features. After having an iPhone and getting tired of it, I’m heavily considering buying this phone again because I miss having the Moto actions, peek display and customization on android. I’d easily say this Edge 2022 right now is the best value Motorola phone you can get as far as price to everything you are getting.

Depends on your needs. Do you need two sims? Personally I don't think you can get much better for 150$ especially new!

Its not your fault Bru, but alot of the Moto top tier phones are still stuck on Android 12. I dnt have a cpu to force update it, so I've been stuck on A'12 for over a yr. Still luv the features the phone has just kinda worried about not having Android 13 or 14 yet. 👍😌

Yeah their software support is pretty subpar sadly. I wish they put in more effort and became a better contender to Google and Samsung.

This phone is currently 299 on Amazon the Motorola edge Plus 2022 they have a renewed version for 189 I purchase mine for 113 on eBay used good condition. If you don't care about name brands which is literally does not make your phone faster or slower then buy this phone. This is the only phone in the world at this price range that packs this much power it scores around 1 million points antutu benchmark

The market dictates the price of something. Apparently this phone wasn't popular so whoever's trying to sell this phone is just trying to move this unit at lower costs. Depending how much you value updates then that's probably what you pay for.

I had this phone when it first released and it was awesome. I eventually got a Pixel 6a because it has faster and more regular updates on it. But there were many things that the Moto Edge 2022 had over the 6a: it didn't get warm as often, the screen on the Edge looked sharper, and the speakers on it seemed much better. I like the Moto actions too and miss them. The biggest downside for Motorola phones has always been lack of software support over time. And the Edge 2022 doesn't have dual sim capability nor does it support eSim. The lack of support along with no dual sim or eSim was why I got rid of mine. Call quality was decent but spotty at times and the 6a definitely wins on calls. I will say no Motorola ever bricks like some Pixel phones have done with updates lately. I also wish Motorola had kept this design for the base Edge each year and saved the curved edge displays for the plus models instead. I prefer flat displays because they're more practical and more comfortable to hold without a case. Great job on the overview here.

Seems like a decent deal, nothing to crazy though. Used you can get them from Amazon/eBay with warranties around that price. And often cheaper.

@@KepTechReviews Is the screen durable enough? Why is Motorola phones holding back on durability? No Corning Gorilla Glass! Even cheap Redmi Phones have at least Gorilla Glass 3 or 5! Very few Motorola phones have Gorilla Glass!

This phone won’t get Android 15. It will get 2 Android updates and 3 years of patches according to Motorola’s website. I’m surprised that this phone is sold new for 140 on Amazon. Why? Is it defective or malfunctioning?

This phone heats up quickly when I play Mobile Legend and PUBG for just about 15 minutes, but the temperature rises to 49c 😢

Pubg, codm, freefire and other cross play games usually take up alot of ram so enable zram, graphics driver enhancement s and GPU enable. I also recommend turning fps all the way up and graphics all the way down it's so silly smooth with those settings I have a rooted modue via magisk and I use franco kernel that allows me to overclock and only then do I get any heat issues

Any effective insights about turning off system update notifications ? We can turn off system auto-update, at least in developper options, but the notification comes EVERY 24hrs !!! So if you have a way.... Thank you for your great work !

In my honest opinion the design of the phone to me Motorola should have kept their design like this with their other updated iterations of the edge. 2023-2024 It seems like to me they're too light in the hand like a feather, I'm fine with the curved screen it's just to me too thin too light and of course as you already mentioned way too expensive with the starting price, even the edge 2024 with no sales goes for $529 phone which in disguise should only be no more than 400 to 450

I just damaged my pixel 6, which I think is a better option considering that I am used to cameras, I have this bike for 100 dollars, the plus for 150, the pixel 6 the same and finally an s21 FE for 10 dollars more, which Do you think, considering your experience, which one would you choose? If you are comfortable with a used phone the I have the pixel 6 pro and I love it. It is approaching its end of life in terms of major os updates (October I Believe) but it will still get security update. The s21 FE will perform better but the pixel has a better camera, so kinda depends what is important to you. I would just make sure that if you are going used that the battery is in good condition.

I would guess no though. Motorola is usually quite slow on updates. Rn I have the 2023+ and it is still on 14. So I would expect the 2022 will take even longer to get updates

@@KepTechReviewsHad it replaced twice. Same issues. 1. Sometimes the screen goes black when a call comes in. You can't answer the call. 2. If you tap something to call up a new screen, hit a button, that screen you are looking at drops to the bottom, very annoying. 3. It takes way too many 3 finger taps to take a screenshot. My previous Moto was bulletproof. This one is quirky. And I'm a person who does all the right things with phones.

@@KepTechReviews Thanks...Hope I was explaining myself well. I had a Moto G5 Plus before this, and 8 years later it is still in use as a tablet! I must also mention the customer service experience regarding the warranty claim, although honored, is somewhat disjointed.
