seems to me that in 2017 the Gixxers were maintaining an advantage with the horsepower and yamaha was making it a race on tracks that didn't have the longest straights. Definitely not the case in 2020 any more and they also had even surpassed the Gixxer with total power under the curve. Maybe the all out peak power of the Gixxer might still be a little more but not throughout the rev range. Paired with what seems to be an easier to ride bike, Yamaha definitely looked like the bike to ride at this race.

Damn, talk about the misrepresentation of facts. They're NOT going "INTO" turn one at 184 mph! They're topping out at 184 on the straight, then braking really, really hard for several hundred feet and maybe going into turn one at 100-ish. Big difference. Not at all am I trying to take away the incredible nerve and talent it takes to do that either, just saying don't exaggerate. And in reality for a straight that long they could be going faster, if not for a slow-ish last turn onto the straight and big up hill climb on the straight. if the track was flat that could be a 200 mph run.

I think everyone understands that the bikes are not capable of doing 184 mph in a corner, it is not an F1 ca

I love watching this series but for God's sakes can someone get JP a wind sock for his mic? His over-pronunciation is so annoying, can't watch with ear buds in without killing my eardrums lol!

EBR Buell would have took the win for sure!
@raynic11734 жыл бұрын
What's really messed up is go back and watch some of the older MA coverage when EBR was out there. The commentators keep mentioning the Ducati's but hardly mention the EBR's especially when they're like 50 miles from their headquarters, pretty messed up, I didn't get it.
@dukecraig24023 жыл бұрын
@@raynic1173 Well Buell is back!!! Albeit without Eric Buell but still it's great that it's back, I'll be the first in line to get one, my XB9 would eat my CBR929RR alive on the winding mountain roads where I live, if that CBR didn't have some long straightaways to wind up on it didn't have a chance against the Buell, it's the best handling bike I've ever ridden. When I got my CBR I rode it exclusively for the first two weeks I had it without touching any of my other bikes, at the end of those two weeks judging by the way it handled I figured it had to be 10% heavier than the Buell just by the way it felt, when I looked up their weights I was shocked to find out that the CBR only weighed 4 lbs more than the XB, but when you park the two next to each other and thought about it it made sense, instead of having all the weight of the fuel up high like a traditional arrangement it was in the frame down much lower, the engine oil is in the swingarm and the muffler is down underneath the engine instead of up high from an upswept exhaust system, the center of gravity was down much lower from those things which led to a bike that handled like no other I've ever ridden, Eric Buell is a genius.
