RIP Ernie Troyer (mini-me) 1969-2018 You were awesome
CV boot is beginning of video go to 12 minute mark for 2” lift install.
2” lift with camber adjustment (non functional) came in so I install that and replace my 2 Left side (can't say drivers side) CV axle boots then take it on a test drive.

Hijet Climber Mini-truck, this one is a 1992, 7th Gen, S83P, 660cc Minitruck. The “climber” means it has rear axle lock. Amir has about 60 units in stock, he was very helpful.
Researching online I did find l lot of information, but Amir explains a LOT more than I knew, he has been in the business for 15 years. Plus if Bubbles in Trailer Park Boys has one, it HAS to be cool!
Don't forget you're buying a used vehicle, check it all out, they're over 25 years old! Some are in much better shape than others. Check for leaks, CV boots ripped, Loose suspension, Clutch slippage, clunks etc. Just like any used vehicle
S83p specs:
660cc 4 vavle 3 cyl engine 48-53hp carburated
weight: 1500 lbs
length 10'8" (128"). width 4'6" (54") w/o mirrors. Height 5'10" (70")
Load capacity 800 lbs
Max Speed 55-60mph
I purchased mine at Boeki USA, www.boekiusa.com has their updated inventory. Ask for Amir and tell them MOTOCHEEZ sent you!
I know there may be other videos of this.. but this is my Cheezy style!
More info (Wikipedia):
The Daihatsu Hijet (Japanese: ダイハツハイゼット) is a cabover microvan and pickup truck produced and sold by the Japanese automaker Daihatsu since 1960. Despite the similarities between the Hijet name and Toyota's naming scheme for its trucks and vans (Hiace and Hilux), the name "Hijet" has been in use for Daihatsu's Kei trucks and Microvans since 1960, over two decades before Toyota took control. "Hijet", when transliterated into Japanese, is very similar to "Midget", one of Daihatsu's other mini-trucks. The Hijet competes in Japan with the Honda Acty, Subaru Sambar, Mitsubishi Minicab, Suzuki Carry and the Nissan Clipper.
Due to changing products, links, etc, If you want the most recent product links (if these are no good), go to www.motocheez.com and click the section you're looking for (upper right) and scroll down the page for the item.
This keeps the links for all the parts more accurate. These I use and install on ALL my videos. I do not sell any of the items listed. (except T-shirts and key tags.. so you buy now!)

When you mentioned not stretching the circlip...I did exactly that when I swapped my clutch pack on my bike. I'd never encountered such a large clip before and didn't realize how little force it needed to lift off. Luckily the harbor freight multipack (the circlip, cotter pin and o-ring packs are lifesavers) had plenty that fitted. Lesson learned...

we used to skyjack the rear of hot rods with those extended shackles to get m50 series tires under the rear without cutting the rear fenders. air shocks alone won't keep you from cutting tires. they are a lot better if you weld a spacer between them to form an h. i've had them bend doing donuts, or power slides if not. it will shift the entire rear of the vehicle a couple of inches to one side, or start dogtracking. happened on a nova, and a torino gt of mine. nothing for it, but to put new ones on. the expensive ones for drag cars already were welded. a buddy of mine shifted 10" shackles all of the way on a camero. he had to replace the driveshaft too. they went from an i, to a z. it was crazy. you were good till the cop pulled you over, got out a tape measure, and wrote you a ticket for bumper height. you had to change tires and lower it, then go back to the police station for a measure. they knew we were just going to go home and put'em back on, but it was a game we played. at a $100 ticket every time. could have went with a 60 series tire, and avoided it, but if you're pushing 400hp, you needed the meat for hookup. the 80's were a simpler time.
@MotoCheez

@@MotoCheez those are pretty long and thin. i'd do it for off road. you know if you don't, they'll get bent, and you'll be cussin yourself. i used to make my own shackles. 5/8 x 2 1/2 high carbon barstock, and grade 8 bolts. a lot better than the crap from jc whitney. remember when they were the place for cheap performance? stress the cheap. $3.35/hr. pt job after school made you get creative.

Not gonna lie and say I've used them for every single wheel change or pad swap I've ever done... But the rear lift with the maxed jack gave me anxiety. Never max the jack out and then work under it 😥 So easy for that to become a disaster, but at least if the jack did give out and MotoCheez was squished, he could probably free himself being that rear end probably only weighs 500lbs on pivot.

Just a couple of notes : use nitrile gloves to prevent all the mess. Second, they make a SPECIAL TOOL for those clamps. You can rent the tool at autozone or advance.. Quick question. I'm a novice when it comes to any type of vehicle repair. The CV boot you purchased and have listed in the vid description, is it used for both the inner and outer axel? Is it the exact same part? Or do you need to separate parts? Long time viewer. Thanks!
@MotoCheez

The one I have linked in description is the outer boot kit for both axles but the inners are listed on the bottom of sale page as suggested. Thanks for hanging in there!😁😁

So I’ve been working on my 96 Acty and I’ve notice some popping during tights turns and the cab will bottom out on the tire if I hit a dip or pothole going to fast....that said the cv boots are shot and I’m wonder if I need to replace the drive axles and springs and struts also? The issues is I’m having trouble finding new parts or at least the drive axles anyway, amd the used pair will cost 500$ which may also come worn out for all I know. I know I also need timing belt change pd so I’m trying to budget wisely and do things in some sensible order. What are your thoughts, can the drive axles be repair if popping and clicking also do you know if these parts might crossover with a more common vehicle? Any advice is appreciated.
@MotoCheez
@MotoCheez 5 жыл бұрын
Him. I'd say if it's popping on turns you're CV joints are bad, probably because the boots were ripped for too long. You should be able to get the CV joint (I assume outer) with a new boot somewhere. I'd check Acty forums. If it's bottoming out your springs may be too light... timing belts are inexpensive. Google search and check forums, I'm not too familiar with the Hondas, sorry.

All the models are basically the same as far as reliability as far as I know and that has to be 25 years or older to be able to register them I've heard because of crash test or whatever. I would just try to get the newest model one with a 5-speed is probably better if you're going to Daly it. I guess it depends on what you're going to do with it

dude why not you just convert that to left hand driver i live in the Philippines and they have millions of these trucks shipped into the country as scrap they cut the frame in half at the cab and they put the cab in the back of the bed for shipping when they arrived in the Philippines they weld them all back together and they flip over the front drive train converting them to left hand drivers move the steering wheel the pedals everything to the other side and repair the dash with some kind of plastic material they do such a good job you can't even tell there is millions and millions of these japanese mini trucks from all the different makes and models here in the Philippines every one of them is converted to left hand drivers because they have a law against right hand driver vehicles take a look on youtube
