MotoG5S Plus SMS error code 96

How do I fix error 96 while sending any SMS through Android phone?
Go to Setting:---More:--Mobile network and check service 3G/4G/LTG
Go to App Permission:--SMS App:---Check contact permission.
Dial #*#4636#*# You will get a menu, from that select Phone Information You will find a setting "SMSC" in the blanck file put Service number, for example: 9811009998 for Vodafone and update it. Now all is set for SMS.

Used two SIM cards in New handset MotoG5s Plus, Vodafone SIM in First Slot and JIO in second. SMS incoming as well as outgoing was ok with Jio SIM while Vodafone had Outgoing SMS issue. Tried to switch SIM from one to another but Issue remained, then for further testing removed JIO sim and kept VOdafone IN single SIM in any slot, result was same. updated SMSC resolved issue.

Thanks alot..it solved my problem.from Cucumber care I just got to know I need to update SMS centre number, but was not getting option in mobile settings. From this video I got tht there is one "network" app ..as shown in 1.24 in video.d from there we can update it. And worked for me ✌✌✌

LETS JUST FREAKING FACE IT. THE PHONE SUCKS!!!! I paid for a service that should all ready be prepared for effective use. I do not work for their manufacturer. We should not be doing their job.. I'm taking this phone back to the flipping store.. the latest Google pixel smart phone has been catching my eye lately. Hell, I'm so annoyed I may even join the apple society. That's how you know I'm fed up. And what's worse, I actually like the features on this phone. What speaker sounds better than the Moto E5 plus? Probably not many. But what good is the darn thing if I can't use a smart phone, the way any phone is meant for? Which is to accurately send text to people I love or do business with, or heck, maybe call my boss to say I'm going to to be 20 minutes late... I'm no darn smart phone mechanic, fix your own product Motorola!! Sheeeeeesh.

check with your Cell phone operator and ask for SMSC code, some times operator push this information during first time SIM insert.

Sorry for the late reply. I am getting the error 97 SMS orientation denied error and I'm using a Verizon sim card. Thanks for your reply and sorry about the late response I don't always have internet service and I usually have to borrow Wi-Fi.
