SlimMGV yeah i found one on ebay its pretty expensive. i do blip shift but having to use the clutch repeatedly around town gives me the cramp.
@philipcooper829710 жыл бұрын
It does not disengage the clutch. Quick shifter cripples the ignition for couple of mili seconds, it's the same like when you cut the throttle to shift up/down. It can't even disengage the clutch, the only motorcycle that could disengage the clutch when you operated the gear lever was made by Jawa ages ago, it was semi-automatic, fully mechanical. They still hold the patent, so not gonna see that any soon. The quick shifter unit can be mounted on any motorcycle with manual gearbox. @akupehsluarketatAR, you do not have to use the clutch to shift up at all, and if you're good enough you do not even need to use it to shift down. But I must warn you, if you down shift when the speed of the final driver and the engine is not equal, you can damage your gear box. To shift up, just cut the throtle, kick it up, then back on throttle. Once you try it, it won't go back. Faster you go, more revs you have, easier it is.

As a matter of fact my first race bike not only had reverse shifting it was also on the RIGHT side of the motorcycle (as were Spanish bikes on the right too albeit with conventional shift direction) down for up was common with early british bikes. I actually preferrec pressing down to shift up as in racing it is easier/faster more critical to get right accelerating where as downshifting you are slowing anyway.so less of the panick...I have always hated that nuetral is between gears it seems stupid (I mean we have a CLUTCH to work with so WTF?? WHY place it between gears???? I personally would prefer the moto gp method with the special lever for nuetral clicking all the way up to nuetral and clicking down to upshift Btw my british race bike ALSO had a cassete gearbox that could be removed in minutes without removing the engine or splitting the cases....even though I never needed to as that tranny was bullet proof and shited perfectly unlike my first bike a Yamaha that I blew 3 gear on multiple times and shifted like crap compared to my AJS

you dont use front brake coming into corners because you'll load up the front suspension then the bike will jerk back on the rear suspension. when you brake you use the front and rear brake to slow then trail the back brake off when you are at the correct speed and gear

If I understand this correctly, MotoGP bikes are basically semi-auto. What?
@harisyoung41105 жыл бұрын
no... manual clutch same with road clutch bike... it equiped with quickshifter system thats why they dont need to release throtlle and no clutch need to upshifting..
@harisyoung41105 жыл бұрын
you also can do it on normal bike, upshifting without clutch.. just need to release a bit throttle before upshifting... need a lot of practice to get used because the timing when you release abit throttle and when to upshift is important to make it shift smoothly... i done it all the time on track with my aprillia rs250 without problem to the engine... just done rebuild the engine because want use performance main bearing and no problem to gearbox after inspecting it..
@MPI10005 жыл бұрын
The MotoGP bikes are kind of semi-auto, yes. They cut ignition on upshift (quickshift) and have "autoblippers" on downshift. So you only have to use the clutch from standstill. Then again many higher-end road bikes also have this today, even big adventure bikes like the R1250GS and KTM 1290 SA. What they have added somewhat recently in the MotoGP bikes is "seamless" shifting, which is some voodoo where you don't even cut the ignition, you get no dip in acceleration at all. Not all have this, but at least the Honda and Yamaha factory bikes do have it.
@flyingdog14985 жыл бұрын
@@MPI1000 The same technology on the BMW bikes, upshot without the cutch, ECU cut the throttle to speed match, down shit with e throttle closed and the ECU "blips" the engine speed to speed match.

Well when you have 250 hp on a 350lb rocket I think that's already enough to handle to warrant the aided shifting. Everyone knows about quick shifting for higher gears but that's interesting they control the throttle blip for the down shifts. I guess if you had to do it manually you would risk over revving the match and could chance disrupting the weight transfer on front wheel when ur trying to brake hard to slow ur machine from 200 mph.
@hanskjellsson23195 жыл бұрын

I don't know for sure because I do not work in a MotoGP workshop, but as far as I know, cable clutches are heavier and have less input linearity when compared to hydraulic clutches. HCs can also be more expensive to maintain, what seems irrelevant when you have millions in cash to spend anyway. Personally, I think it's a case of using simple technology that you know willget the job done while keeping the motorcycle light.
