Rossi, Capirossi, Biaggi and Melandri in the golden age of Italian motorcycling. In all there are 17 world championships and over 160 victories in the world championship
@periklaskyriakidis60648 ай бұрын
Melandri is so underrated... His move to Ducati killed his career, otherwise he'd have been the fifth man of the MotoGP big 4 (Rossi, Stoner, Lorenzo and Pedrosa. Which is still kinda wrong since there was also Dovi)

This outcome had been anticipated throughout the season, as Melandri's performance had been remarkable since his switch to Honda from Tech 3 Yamaha. Astonishingly, this marked Gresini's first victory of the year. The year 2005 proved challenging for them, with their lead rider Gibernau experiencing a significant downturn in form following the season opener in Jerez. He did not secure a single race win all season and had several blunders, including running off the track here.

FORMULA 1 Became the trend on this Turkish GP Istanbul from 2008 to 2011 since 2005 after MotoGP didn't continue from 2008 onwards where it returned back after 10 years later in 2020 November when Lewis Hamilton Mercedes won the 7 championships during the COVID 19 Pandemic and last 2021 by Max Verstappen win in Red Bull team in White Colour 2021 Turkish GP Challenging Over Lewis Hamilton Mercedes

Predominantly rider skill in those days. No ridiculous aero, launch devices or other garbage. Sorry but MotoGP has lost it's way and has become boring as the victories are won and lost by engineers not riders now.
@jaida8945 Жыл бұрын
I mean yes and no (as I don't know your age I can't say if your opinion is based on you being there for the 500cc era before it became MotoGP officially and it's a case of the change and differences just aren't to your liking or if it's something else) in 2005 I was quite young so I have not got the nostalgia of previous era's and I started watching MotoGP in 2011 Either way the bikes today are not riderless bikes and do need a rider to actually ride and make it go where it needs to go and accelerate and brake as when needed so for now it's still a rider in control and the rider is still the person who collects the trophy for the win Unless pecco and the others are secretly also robots
@lifeatredline1783 Жыл бұрын
@@jaida8945 Of course, it takes a rider but when you have 8 bikes by one manufacture which all contribute greatly to a breadth of input, data, and R&D. Then that one manufacture is so dominant that riders that were marginal suddenly become contenders on it that tells me there is a lot to the bike. Listen to the commentary even, it's all about the tech, not about technique. Lastly, I'm not being nostalgic, but I think MotoGP is suffering from a lack of competitive personalities and rivalries. Announcers can try to drum it up but it's just not there when they hug and hangout after the race. Right now, I find SBK more entertaining.
@jaida8945 Жыл бұрын
@@lifeatredline1783 I get it from your side of the conversation but what other manufacturing teams would be a good competitive option and who would go where are the following questions and I know you can't have possibly known this but you talk about listening to the commentary and I would but I can't as I'm deaf in both ears and I have a little bit left in both ears but I rely on lip reading when in social situations I watch MotoGP with my mum and we have it set up so she can hear it and every so often she'll let me know what is being talked about if she's not to busy yelling swear words at aleix espagaro (I might not be able to hear much at all but the swearing is obvious when I'm reading her lips) and my connection is through the vibrations of the bikes and the visuals
@lifeatredline1783 Жыл бұрын
@@jaida8945 I understand the argument that other manufactures need to step up. My point is from a fan's perspective, races won and lost in Engineering labs are boring and MotoGP fans are suffering because of it.
@jaida8945 Жыл бұрын
@@lifeatredline1783 I do see your point and it is probably something that people will have to get used to at least until the bikes become sentient and start riding themselves 😂 personally for me I don't like the races where you see 4 or 5 bikes battling for the win and a really slow backmarker gets in the way and some riders races are hindered or how they allowed riders like Cal crutchlow to race despite the fact that he was prone to either crashing himself or other riders out or he would do these stupid overtakes that you could see weren't going to end well
