Already have a GKTECH full front end and it’s amazing can’t wait to get some funds aside for the rear end setup. Gktech is a great brand and offer amazing customer support even make oem parts now

I almost find it ironically comical that the S13 chassis is in such demand the last few years that the aftermarket for it is producing kits like this in such good quality. I bought mine in 2002 for a whopping $2400 and had it 11 years til a kid in the neighborhood stole it for a joyride and plowed into a Lexus (found that out via a detective that showed up at my door while we were moving. Surprise!) Prior to that, I remember spending A Lot of time in junkyards scavenging Q45s and 300ZXs for 'upgrades'. Went through quite a few tie rods back then. 😉

Thank you Mike for the wealth of knowledge & it motivates me to rebuild my entire suspension! This is something I have always wanted to do with my S13 to do both grip & drift, which still has the original OEM hardware. But seeing how adjustable & durable these GK tech are I am definitely in the market to buy them. Also, as the only perfect place to do this in virtually on Gran Turismo to see this be done in real life is quite a feat! I hope that you can guys can do an installation, alignment, & final build video of your S13 project. I'm definitely going to get these because of the well thought out & engineered parts! If you have a link to these suspension parts or affiliation I would greatly appreciate it! Here is my S13 drifting virtually in Gran Turismo Sport. ->kzbin.info/www/bejne/bnaqiqWNftSEm5I

See here is my thing,about 2 years ago I fabricated my S chassis ( s13) to accept the 2015 Q50 Akebono brake calipers & Rotors on all 4 corners. I had to weld the rear Q50 parking brake mount wholes shut, & match them to the s13 hub along with the anchor bolt hole. I used a G35 cable with some fabrication & I had to weld the anchor to the backing plate. It works but I can't use it for drifting because the plate is so thin. I have asked GK Tech if they have done the same thing & are working on a dual caliper setup for the 13.9 in rotor. I spied a video from Japan some guy in a G37 or late model G35 ( car was black) had dual caliper setup with Akebono's. I was wondering if I'm the only person in America who's done this or is there anyone working on a plan?

Some of the stuff about stock Schassis geo isn't quite correct. Schassis rear has toe-in bumpsteer standard. The reason it gets toe-out is because people only change the RUCA length without changing the FUCA as well. FUCA controls the bumpsteer curve. Not that any of this matters at all because elastokinematics mean you will always have 0.2deg toe-out or whatever under loads.
@motoiq
@motoiq Жыл бұрын
No we have plotted the toe curves many times.
@ArchOfficial
@ArchOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@motoiq I checked my kinematic analysis and you're right, S13 does have a smidge of toe-out for the first 40mm. S14 is purely toe-in. Although in an idealized S13 geo the toe deflection is low enough to consider it as "none" for the first 40mm of compression.
@motoiq
@motoiq Жыл бұрын
Toe in was a nice side effect of reducing the anti on the 14 and 15
@ArchOfficial
@ArchOfficial Жыл бұрын
@@motoiq I think the reason S13 had a mostly neutral curve is due to the focus on elastokinematic toe-in, at least when using standard components. The different toe curve on S14 is most likely just a side-effect like you said, but do you know if the elastokinematics were changed at all to compensate?

If those braces are so strong as you tell a hit will bend the subframe or chassis. I prefer bending braces than the chassis. The other thing is you dont mention what brand are those bearings because Enjuku doesnt make any bearings, they sell other brands.

FDF is painted silver so maybe it photos better but the construction quality is equivalent. I like the FDF adjustable offset tie rods and the fact that everything is in double shear. The GKTech has more adjustability particularly at the top due to the mount being under the tower, it can move all over that area in any direction. GKTech can use OEM configured parts due to stuff not being in double shear so there are tradeoffs.
@Kiret123
