Great review. I had the same experience with the moto jack rack as you. Bought the heavy duty version as well ,had to buy longer bolts, plastic skids peeled off first time use plus the bottle jack leaks. Paint sucks too. But the moto jack is a solid performer when set up right. Tip. Drill hole thru nylock nut and bolt after assembly and add a cotter pin. with use the nylock nuts will loosen.

I have been using the moto Jack rack for 20 years now logged over 15000 miles at least never one problem mine did not come with the strips on the platform i would just take them off and not worry about it, the carrier is going to get scratched does not effect the use one bit.The best two things about the moto jack rack are the pocket the top of the jack fits into so it can't slip out and the screw that tightens it against the hitch you still can use a hitch lock in the pin hole i have been all up and down the east coast and now the last 10 years in montana and about 6 other states out west if i am going riding by myself i use the MJR great product

Great review! I had that carrier years back and IMO what they need is two hooks for strapping the front of the bike down also. Just using the foot pegs was too sketchy so i looped some tie downs around the carrier frame. I am currently using the "All Jacked Up Switch Hauler" from RM ATV and i am much happier. The overall design and quality control is far superior.

Exactly!! Or don’t want it to scratch all that nice paint off! But if you built off this platform, it would be cool!

I recently ordered a double. It took two months to get and I found issues with much of the fit and finish. I bought 12 additional washers 4 bolts two of longer length than supplied and had to redrill the stop pin hole that keeps the hitch from lowering because they weren't even close to lining up so the pin could not pass through the first lowering arm into the receiver hitch. The paint finish was like a child painted it and the plastic strips on the base all but one fell off. All in all its a great way to haul two bikes but my confidence in it not snapping a bolt would be a 3 on a 1-10 scale. time will tell. For a single, the MX hauler which I own is hands down light years better build. Unfortunately, they don't make a double. $799 price tag way too high for the quality received.

My long term experience isn’t as great as i had expected either. The plastic glued covers on the platform are completely off now and won’t come off when unloading or loading. Great idea and concept but it still needs work unfortunately.

I just put mine together. Mines not the heavy duty model. I think it said that the HD model doesn’t use inside washers. Don’t understand why?? It’s not powder coat it’s very thin paint. I see bare metal in several places on mine. I sent them a email about cheap ass rattle can paint!! For the price of 500.00. I’m disappointed. I’m going to put some pop rivets in the rubber pads after your saying the rubber strips aren’t secured good at all. I waited almost 3 months for mine. I like the design though. I have to ramp up carriers. This will be easier for a 67 year old. I’d rather spend energy on riding than loading. More issues. Van doors hit it before they open. A pickup tailgate would hit before its down. I’m going to have a welder add a piece to move it back in the reciever. No thought at all by their design department. !!! Thanks

After installation of the washers as they recommended. Metal still binded up & new powder coat flaked off. I wanted to take it easy on this but eh. For a simple metal product and how much it binded up and everything. I’d never buy again. This could easily be made better

@americanduramax3 жыл бұрын
I haven’t measured it but 1500’s in general sit lower than 2500’s so my trucks 4” lift is same as your 6.5” lift typically. Your Probably on 35’s like I am. So the 2” drop version of this should be fine on flat ground but it’ll be close. If you throw the rear tires in the gutter in front of your driveway, it clears for days

When arrived it was very simple to adjust and put together. I also added spike tape over the metal hooks before securing and tightening the straps, and no scratches. I also purchased the top bar made by the same company so that my cruiser sits straight on the rack without having to turn upside down. Extra bungee cords are used to secure the front wheel from flapping and even piece of mind knowing your bike is secure. Definitely recommend...
