In the ice belt here in the east, your vids are a bench warmer, anticipating spring. Luv the idea of 'don't allow others to determine your risk.' Great vid as usual, esp. won't leave the garage without front brake.

I understand why trail braking is crucial to safely corner, but I've got slightly different question. Do you use both brakes, or front only, or maybe there is some timing when to release back vs front

SMART ADVICE
@jst8922Күн бұрын
Regarding 10:25 lean angle and too much throttle, i **heard** Aprilia has the best TC traction control system, ie in normal mode it won't allow you get whole power to drive wheel even if you open throttle 100% when lean angle is big , because they have sensors for lean angle and this adjust output power to drive wheel (more lean angle, less output power). Bike is in principle upside down pendulum.
@sooryamalli5644Күн бұрын
Rider assists are just crutches. Rain mode, traction control will just dull down the bike so much it gives room for the rider to ride poorly. Once you're on a motorcycle without them you'll feel the difference and sometimes it'll just be the rider sliding across the tarmac because of poor throttle control.
@YordanHristooovКүн бұрын
What you are describing it’s been on all bimmers for ages 😄 Aprillia never been famous for it or good at it. Ducati finally nailed it also with their last bike. I can also point out my friends CB1000 has very intrusive traction control that completely takes his ability to drive out of corners fast. Even if you pin it, the bike still won’t give you much until is more upright and it’s very annoying! On my S1000R you can set it up and it barely intervenes

"Doing basics at PhD-level." - WOW!!! You know who you are? Just another guy on a bike. That's the reality. Overconfidence will kill you.
@jst8922Күн бұрын
Nope, those are the basics everyone riding should know !
@kevinlewis4554Күн бұрын
The quote you captured was in the context of riders focusing on body position over everything else and consequently missing their line or riding too fast in the middle of the corner. Greg's reinforcing comment was that he can ride body neutral using the basics (vision, throttle, brakes, counter steering and line section) and at a faster pace. If you take the ChampU online training they advocate not using body position at all on the street. If you practice the basics your technique and muscle memory will make you a more confident and proficient rider - NOT overconfidence.

vision? Greg you instruct the opposite of enhancing vision and you ride doing the same thing by taking an early apex. Your basic cornering line is inccorect for road use, you are limiting your vision. . tell me how do you link corners back to back on an unfamilar road? All your techniques are all coming from a track orientated riding style not a public road You've no idea how a high side is caused I'd love to see where you get your "facts" from, like to many riders use engine braking. Where did you come up with this I think your peddling of body positon is a way of justifying you riding like shit and being slow
