I know this can't be said enough....THANK YOU GUYS ON BIKES!!! You not only see an animal in danger, but you turn around to make sure that nobody hits the animal, and go retrieve it even though it may cause a few minutes of delay for those behind, but it would mean a lifetime for the animal that escaped danger. Also He explained pretty much why he would say he didn't have money to give since the people buy it for unnecessary things like beers and cigarettes.

that's because a lot of people ask for money to get drugs and alcohol. so if you say that you'll buy them food instead of just giving them money it prevents that from happening

He just explained that he doesn't want to really give them cash, since most of them lie about say going to the bus stop, and instead buy a 40 with that money. So yeah, he lied, but that was to not have the homeless man beg him for his money, but instead beg for food.

On my way back from Tennessee with my parents, I saw a man with a sign that said "need food - not money." And the semi truck in front of us motioned him over, and he gave him some food from the cab of his truck - and I believe I looked out the rear view mirror and saw a few bikers stopping to give him something. My wife and I were walking the sidewalk in my neighborhood and noticed a turtle crossing the road ahead of our location. We headed that way intending to help him along. Before we got there a couple of idiots (i.e. "good 'ol boys") ran over it flat with their four wheel drive big ass tires. We both yelled at them but they laughed. Pissed me off big time. Morons. Hope they find an Amtrak in their front seat someday. While they're in it of course.

When someone asks you for food then you sure as heck should help them out however you can. When they ask for money thats on you. You should do what that guy did and say meet me at the nearest fast food place so you know they actually want food and if thats the case then help them out the best you can.
