I bought a K4 turbo and also own hondas and vws, but the kia is really good and better than the others in many ways, my brother owns 2 mercedes and this car is right up there in quality and features

I absolutely love the new K4! It's bold and innovative. Technology is way beyond the competition. As for a hybrid, it would be nice they offer it. But I dont need it. What most people dont know is insurance charges a premium for hybrid vehicles. You may save more at the pump. But that savings is going toward insurance cost.

I think MM acknowledged that in the video, but he seems to think it is 90% a Camry for less money. I mean, even a Civic is pretty big these days. I wonder if midsized sedans will eventually ride off into the sunset?

I can't get the features I want on the Civic. The K4 gives me mid-sized class features for a compact car price, which I'm being priced out from due to the economy. I can care less about a hybrid. Insurance will charge a premium for hybrids.

10:56 WRX starts right around 36-37k. And with a manual offering. For $42k I'd REALLY have to notice those extra 30 horses and want that hatch. And that composure when pushing would have to be tightening up

This turbo model with Interstellar grey and the black/red interior is the way to go! It's gorgeous! Brand aside, the thing I would pay for in an app store (pretty much only for EVs) are car sounds. Several EVs comes with their own sound or choice of sounds. Just like ringtones for your phone, they can make hundreds of sounds for your EV to make for download that would be way better than what each one gives you now. There would be different sounds you pick for reverse, low speed for neighborhoods and parking lots, and for on throttle action.

Since Hyundai/Kia Dropped the 1.6 in the Sonata and the K5 as that was my last ICE vehicle, If I go back to one the K4 GTLine Turbo would be it.

I had a couple Kia vehicles over the past 5 years. They both had build quality issues. Screws were coming out. Plastic trim and plastic underpanels kept popping off. One of them had a raging case of hatch rattle that the dealer kept claiming they couldn't reproduce. Any time I tried to use the lauded Kia 10-year warranty there was always an excuse why the problem wasn't covered. I'd really have a hard time trusting this car

I went AWD in the wishlist - why? You and I both know the cost to re-engineer a RWD based platform is prohibitively expensive. They can easily add an AWD system and with a miracle, maybe do what BMW does and give the driver the ability to cut the torque to the front wheels.

@@MotoManTV Yes, it is impossibly expensive to do so but ..... ok, you are right. My wishlist still needs to be realistic hehe. Yeah, an AWD with the possibility of front disengagement would be nice but it will take space and weight too hence my idea of shredding out some kg/lb.We need to build our own brand at the end, nothing affordable exciting at the end. :)

Mechanically (especially the engine block and lack of an honored warranty), why would anyone ever buy a non-EV Hyundai or Kia? At least 2025 will show how both of those sister companies will face their date in court in america. Set to be the largest ever trial against any automaker. Both sister companies are at risk of losing some $20,000 per new vehicle sold in america, from 2014-2023

Funny i was actually considering this car until i took a better look at a 25 camry xse basically fully optioned out. Obviously the camry is better in every way. Even quicker. But is it 11000 dollars better. I think so. By itself for the price, this is actually a solid car

Have you heard 1.8 million Hondas are being recalled right now for engine failures? Let's stop poking the bear on Hyundai and Kia reliability. I own a Hyundai Elantra now. 2017 model year bought brand new. It has 110k miles on it and no mechanical issues. If you do your research, you should know that the Hyundai Motor group has improved their reliability.

I generally liked the styling direction Kia was going with their lineup the past few years. This unfortunately clearly stands out as the ugly duckling in the bunch. It is almost as if automakers are pushing us to choose crossovers with the odd direction sedan styling is going. The one that stands out in the “affordable, but still pretty” category is (ironically?) the Prius.

Yes, K5 is the prior Optima, which is the sister car to the Sonata. This K4 is the prior Forte, the sister car to the Elantra.
