This is a great safety and learning tutorial. I am a retired city transit driver from Vancouver, Canada with 35 years service and I now drive a charter motor coach part time as a retirement gig, simply because I still love driving a coach at 71 years of age. Again, kudos to you and Village Tours on a great tutorial, keep up the good work.

Trevor Batstone I cannot wait to begin my career as a professional motor coach operator! I'm gonna start as a school bus driver though....

@@DontchaHateDat coach driving is not a career it is a hobby. you can not make a living because retirees who can afford to work cheaper (pension social security etc) undercut you and drive wages down. thats just how it is.

Motor coach companies are just like trucking companies. All they want are warm bodies that’ll work cheap. The reason this video promotes driving as a “lifestyle “ is to take attention away from the fact that the pay an benefits are terrible. As a CDL driver you accept a tremendous amount of liability when you get behind the wheel and the pay doesn’t come close to compensating you for that liability. That’s why the turnover rate is so high. There’s no driver shortage. There’s a pay shortage.

the the requirement of only thin necks drivers. the shortage will become bigger.

@@sylwesterwoodest1094 what exactly do you mean by thin neck drivers? Because my neck circumference is a bit bigger than 17 inches and because of that I'm on a CPAP and I still got my CDL learner's permit

Good overview. If you are a coach or bus driver wanted to step up to coach. Worth the time.

I would just like to say one thing here. Whether you're a bus driver or motor coach operator , YOU should NOT have to put be the one that puts the luggage away. There's 50 of them and just one of you . Now, is it fair that ONE person have to put away over 50 pieces of luggage.....they come with more than one suit case per person. What if you hurt yourself....whos' gonna drive then. I say to all drivers DO NOT pick up a single more suit case !!

6400az I definitely agree. I make the passengers help me load their luggage

Depends on company as well I worked for a company that promoted drivers who dressed down and scrapped up equipment and got silly tickets. I left because I didn't fit the profile they wanted.

very good video, I am taking my training to become a motor couch driver. Just have my first drive today and wow this buses are different than school buses, the only thing I found wear was the amount of play on the steering wheel.

groups may want professionalism, but they absolutely demand cheap. there is no use for professionalism in that business, just the lowest price the group can get for the bus. never mind the group spends 500$ to 1000$ a day on junk food etc, they want the bus to be as cheap as it can be. sorry this is just from experience.
