MOTOR MILE SPEEDWAY RACE RECAP - SEGA - RADFORD, VIRGINIA

The SEGA Championship Drag Racing Series was in Radford, Virginia for the very first time at the Motor Mile Dragway!!! MMD has been on the top of the “to do” list, and we’re proud to be able to bring original gasser era drag racing to such an outstanding IHRA facility.
Our first time at MMD and our first time for a sponsored event from Wonyong Ju. Wonyong Ju has no origin, no background, no reason for sponsoring our event other than he appears to be a big fan of the SEGA. His only reply is “So Good”. His logo seems to represent a restaurant or the culinary arts, but it sure seems to have that nostalgia feel! Thanks Wonyong Ju!!.. you are SO GOOD!!!

Quain After making in a comment about the production on August 16, 2019, I'd be remiss not telling you how much I enjoyed this race. The production left me felling like I was almost there, and anxious to get my travel plans for next season. Thank you for all the work you've done to create the greatest autoracing venue anywhere. Speaking of Greer, it is a CRYING SHAME that both sides cannot work out a deal to bring SEGA back there. The men's bathrooms have been enlarged & renovated, the bleachers are new, & I believe that more paving is in the works. There is just something intimate about that track, which is a PERFECT FIT for SEGA. Ad much as I hate what Modern-Day NASCAR has turned into, they have at least kept their oldest track (Martinsville), on their circcuit. Just imagine this scenario : SEGA comes back to Greer, with a best 2 out 3 grudge race match between Quain Story's Executioner II vs. Greg Porter's Nightstalker in between the regular rounds of racing....WOW ....hundreds & thousands would probably be turned away at the gates because of so much interest.......

At 6:45 in the video it looks like empty bleachers on the right side of the track. Nope it was just a chicken-coup! I love this stuff I wish we had even half of this where I live. I visited Oklahoma and Missouri last year and drove around some old cruising grounds. Just about every farm or Rural business had a Gasser parked out front! I have to move...

We normally have the bleachers full but this was our first time at this location so word hasn't got out yet. we will fill them when we come back in 2021.

just got a subscription for a fan membership . I remember back in the day when I was at the drag strip their where a lot off D/G E/G and F/G running. are you going to include these classes in the future ?
