Sir, I have bought Punch EV 3 months back. Day by day, the range (with AC on) increased from 250 to 300km (with energy efficiency 110-120). We live in north India and during extreme hot weather (40 degree+), the range decreased to 200-210, and energy efficiency increased to 160 (shocking). The climate system is consuming more battery (what I have observed!). Means, range has now decreased from 300 km to 200-220 km, i.e. more than 80-90 kms, which is a big figure! On the other hand, my driving behavior has improved from 7 to 8 (so range should increase, right ?). My daily kilometer calculations are being disturbed and now I am charging my car 3 more days in a month (consuming more electricity). This reduced range issue is also with one of my known, who is also using same PUNCH EV car. One thing more, this issue is not with my friend's Nexon EV, as it's range is reduced by 30-40 km only (during peak summers). Sir, I have approached Tata, but their response is not satisfactory. I have also shared my driving behavior figures, range display screenshots with them. What to do, please help!!

As a EV supporter... love your videos. The owner is well informed just like all ev owners. Range anxiety is so overrated. Im yet to see a stranded ev in the city. Infact its impossible to drive 250kms in the city in one day. Where EVs trump ICE are the three 'R's Renewable, recyclable and regen. None of it is possible with fossil cars

Please talk about lithium Iron battery charge cycle .. I think the battery that Tata uses has more than 5000 cycles minimum means by 5000 cycles the overall capacity will remain 80% so these batteries can run for 5000* 300 KM = 15,00,000. 15 lakh km. No issue.

I was totally against evs, but more I think and calculate overall running+buying cost, evs make more and more sense... TATA Should combine the lower powered motor 80HP with the 35kWh Battery pack to increase the practical range. It will reduce cost also. EV's haven't got the expected boom...there are various shortcomings in terms of the infrastructure and also the government subsidies...besides the doubt after 8 years looms the most among the average buyers...These shortcomings is bothering the companies...hence the price cut to lure the customers....

See you can definitely go for an EV , doesn't matter whether your daily run is 20km or 120km. but yes then dont do the after math once you buy it, and dont start calculating the ROI and break even analysis. because in 20 kms you wont be able to justify the extra cost which you will pay while buying an EV. but this is just a good reason to soothen yourself, i have seen so many people who just dont car about all these calculations. if you really feel like you want to buy an EV, just go for it.
