@@SaharaMotoAdventure I have just found out about the earthquake from a friend as I don’t watch TV much anymore. What a terrible event. Yes, my heart felt sympathies to all those people affected by this tragedy.

Brilliant film. Watched it from start to finish. Now I’m itching to go to Morocco again! Great editing skills, and I’m very impressed at how well you handle the f650gs, especially in all that sand. Happy riding.

Hello, nice trip, nice clip and nice bike, brings back memories. Did you put a 21 front wheel on your 650 GS along with the taller Dakar suspension?
@SaharaMotoAdventure Жыл бұрын
thank you. the Dakar comes standard with a 21" front wheel :)
@ERUtheWINDRIDER Жыл бұрын
@@SaharaMotoAdventure In that case, you changed the plastics, or at least paint them, because the Dakar variant never had that color. 😉

no I didn't. but I guess some previous owner of this bike did paint it 😃

Cool trip and interesting video! Did you have any satellite phone or similar in case of an emergency or bike brake-down in the dessert?
@SaharaMotoAdventure2 жыл бұрын
thanks Martin. I was amazed by the good cell phone coverage, even in the desert I had cell phone coverage every know and then. But I also rented a Garmin InReach satellite commutation device to be able to communicate anywhere. I'm glad I didn't need it. road side assistance and medical helicopters are far away in the desert, so better not get hurt.

Loved the video I have the same bike in the UK I have been to France and Spain but never to Morocco .how did your chain and sprockets cope with all that sand .
@SaharaMotoAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Thanks John, if you get a chance to go to Morocco, do it, I bet you will like it. Great adventure. It's fair to say, the abuse on the chain was very high on this trip. Before I started the trip I installed a new set of sprockets and chain. The chain is now shot, the rubber seals are slowly but surely falling of. So new chain for the next season is needed. But it was worth every penny 😎

Great video and very informative. I am going there in March and just wondered how you found the hotels you stopped at. Pre planned or just lucky?
@SaharaMotoAdventure2 жыл бұрын
wishing you a safe and fun journey. enjoy your time. I did not pre plan the nights. I used a combination of Google maps, booking.com and iOverlander. I didn't have a problem to find accomodation. however after the lockdown and reopening of the ferry transport, I was one of the first tourists, so it was very quiet everywhere. it may have become more busy now, not sure

Really cool trip. I am thinking about taking a similar tour with the same bike, a 2005 F650GS. I don't have off-road experience. Do you think is it necessary to have a certain degree of off-road experience? Thanks
@SaharaMotoAdventure2 жыл бұрын
Hey thanks for your feedback. Morocco is suitable for all kinds of bikes and skill levels. On the ferry we saw Goldwings and regular street/touring bikes too. Morocco has good asphalt roads. But also good off-road tracks if you are into that. I think you will be fine to start slow and easy on gravel roads, take your time and get used to it. But without much off-road experience I'd say stay away from the sand and especially don't try to go up the sand dunes.
@unintentomas2 жыл бұрын
Thanks a lot! I guess I can live without the sand dune😅👌
