Your absolutely correct... there's a very small difference between 12's and 14's... first of all; any height and style higher and more upright than those stock bars are a major plus... I rode my partners Road Glide who had 12" Factory 47's and they felt sooooo much better than the stock bars; so I then figured that: if these 12's feel this good, I thought the 14's would be perfect for me, which they are... I could do either size, as long as they're not stock... By the way; Great Video (content). Note: The overall objective is to get those hands out of our laps from that Stock Bar Position 💯

I have the 8” Yaffe monkey bagger bars on my 05 Ultra. Everyone at the shop was saying they’re the same as stock and told me to go with 10” or 12”. I did a lot of research on dimensions and I’m glad I went with my gut and not the crowd. I love my 8” bars. About an inch taller than stock 2-3” more forward and best of all much better wrist angle. Plus my hands stay behind the fairing for cold and rainy trips.

Hi Bodean, I have a 13 Road Glide that I have replaced the handlebars on three separate times first time 10 Heritage bars second time 14 meat hooks and third-time 18in. Traditional Apes I felt very little wind on my hands with the 10's & the 14's but the 18's my hands are definitely in the Wind. I have a Windvest 14 in. shield & a stock seat I'm 6 ft. tall. I think of something happens that you go over the handlebars them two little points is going to be the least of your worries. We have all seen choppers that had spikes on them I always thought that looked kind of scary. One of the most important parts of handlebars that I never hear anybody say anything about is how the ends are to keep your wrist straight. I know with me if my rest or not straight they will begin to hurt after a short time. There is no right or wrong in handlebars they have to fit the rider. Ride safe.

@user-sl8bd9wd8f
@user-sl8bd9wd8f 4 ай бұрын
When picking a handlebar, consider a few key factors. First, the rear ride height of the bike affects the horizontal placement of your arms. Second, the seat height and your own height also impact this placement, and thirdly the placement of the handlebar on your bike (too far forward or too far backward). Additionally, factors like pull-back, width, and drop also play a role. Opinions on what's right or wrong vary, but it ultimately comes down to personal preference. It's about what feels good versus what looks good to the rider, “YOU”. If you want to try a different bar height, a simple test involves making fists and placing them under the grips. Starting with a 14” handlebar, to see what it feels like with a 12" bar, touch the top of your fist to the bottom of the grips; for a taller bar, like 16", place your fist on top of the grips with the bottom of your fingers touching the grips. Keep in mind that while some bars may feel comfortable on short rides, they might cause discomfort on longer journeys, making your shoulders and arms numb or just uncomfortable. In our view, a good seat, paired with the right handlebar, creates a winning combination for an enjoyable riding experience. The bottom line is, that any aftermarket handlebar “MAY” beat the stock “wheelbarrow” handlebar. This is only my opinion. I hope this was somewhat helpful. factory47.com/

Well I think you have to look also, you may be 6'3 but also you torso could be the same as someone 5'10" and just a longer inseam. I like those first bike I looked at and really wanted, but bank said no lol, was a 2014 RG with I think 12 inch meat hooks, they really felt good to me, I would not mind putting those on my RKC. On a 300 plus mile ride one day I noticed a lot of shoulder pain after about 220 miles with my factory bars, of course I have shoulder issues anyways. But I think the though it best for anyone to try and sit on bike with the bars they like and different heights to get what they want.

Really appreciate that and I always thought the stock bars were like 9 1/2 but not much of a difference either way. We actually turned my stock bars up before I bought these and even doing that these bars are without a doubt higher. If you take a picture of me from the side my arms probably just go down just a little bit but they were so much better and I just got back from a 1500 mile trip with them. I actually don’t believe you can go wrong either way and if you can find a bike to sit on, that’s even better. Good luck in your search

Not really familiar with the seating position on a fat Bob. So many factors in my opinion matter on the bars more than just our height, but that’s me. Easiest way for me was actually sit on a bike that has some on and decide from there. I have in the past on the bike, put my arms straight out and then have my wife measure from the base up to where my arms would be level and use that as a measurement. Good luck.

I’m 6’ even and put 16” on one bike, I know I would’ve been happier with 14”. Now I’m putting 10” on my other bike because that’s what my Bud has on his bike. He’s like Bo, you’ll like 12” better, but to me his bike is the most comfortable Vrod I’ve ever ridden. I’m not trying to copy his bike, just set mine up real similar.

What is comfortable to one person doesn’t mean it’s comfortable to all. One piece of advice before doing your bars. Figure out your seat first. Then, choose bars accordingly.

I have not sat on one so would be hard too. Lots of times people will have someone take a picture of them sitting on the bike from the side with arms straight out and that helps some. For me, I want to try so sit on a bike first. Maybe your dealership has one and I know even if they don't, they could probably help by sitting on a new one. Good luck!

I had such a hard time trying to decide what size bars I wanted, and I really waited until I could sit on a bike that already had them on. Good luck deciding but I don’t think always bigger is the answer, but that’s just me.

I had 16's on my 06 Road King and just got another Road King. Going to Fat Baggers 16's 1.5 diameter. If nothing major has changed, these bars will be shoulder height and fit perfectly. I'm much shorter BTW. Have a 19 Ultra with 14" F 47's but more wide. Makes for a hard turn for me. Lol! Enjoy the ride
