hey, the noise most likely is from the sun heating the fuel tank nd the over pressure valve letting the extra "fumez" out, my kawasaki vulcan classic "sings" just like that.

Thanks for a good watch. Your voiceover audio style works great! Way out miles from anywhere a few years ago a friend of mine screwed an LPG gas cylinder onto a cooker top just like you were doing at 16:54. Next moment there was a Woosh! and a ball of flame and he was very badly burned, requiring a helicopter casevac off the trail and hospitalization. Whenever you are attaching a gas cylinder to a cooker or other fitting, ALWAYS hold the cylinder right side up. In the event of a leak and/or an unintended ignition, you will only have a hopefully small gas fire to deal with. You can actually hear your cylinder make a hiss noise as it screws on. If the cylinder is upside down it will eject liquid LPG fuel which instantly expands into a large amount of gas, resulting in an explosion and a big ball of flame. Stay safe out there, especially when you are alone.

nice video, my only comment would be to lose the one man tent, go with the two man tent, not much bigger packing wise but worth it in my opinion. would have liked to seen your cot. i agree with other poster about the sound youre hearing, probably your gas boiling, common issue with KLR .thanks for sharing your trip! nice site!

It's a weeding noise from the fuel tank mine does it when I fill up. Have a honda rally that also does it. I think since each has a new said plate I may have pinched the vent lines.

You are on a motorcycle. Stealth camp anywhere in the forest. When I camp off my motorcycle I camp anywhere I want. Thats whats great about a motorcycle. Bring a pop up fire pit and no scorched earth left behind. No one knows I was even there. Also, that sound is from your gas tank heating up and releasing pressure. My KLR does exactly the same thing. You should have told us you packed a chain saw with you...lol

My 2023 KLR 650 makes the same mysterious sound. I think the sound is coming from somewhere behind the right fairing panel. My brother thinks it's a computer cooling fan cycling on and off.

Great video! Love camping in Maine. What cot are you using? I brought an air mattress on my last motorcycle camping trip. It was great, but too bulky and heavy, not doing that again. I like the compactness of that cot. If you could share the model, that would be great. Awesome.

I have the same problem with my bike.Having the screen on all the time will deplete the battery and the charging system of the bike cannot keep up.Turn the screen off and just listen to the instructions with your Bluetooth and the bike will be able to keep your phone charged.Lets hope that tone day Kawasaki puts a good charging system on the KLR.

I set up like I am on crack..see the location for my tent, do the once over for rocks, sticks anything sharp, always use a small ground cloth and have double pad. I have a cheap, cheesy yoga style pad for first and then inflatable for my sleeping bag. I immediately string a line between 2 trees, turn jacket and pants inside out to dry and get rid of as much funk as possible, get my coffee place for the morning and then start camping..I always get my place to sleep within my first 10 minutes and get where I am getting coffee. If I sleep 6-9 hours it's all good. I like to let my sleeping bag air out for 30+ minutes in the morning..

No gloves? You do know your hands have more sensitive nerves than any other part of your body. Can you feel a scratch on glass with your butt cheek? I think not. If you rash your hands that’s what you’ll be grafted with. The squealing noise is the fuel tank venting.
