We were taught "DR ABC" model -- Danger (check for danger to yourself), Response (check if victim is conscious), Airway (check if airway is clear), Breathing (check if victim is breathing), Circulation (check for blood and if victim's blood is circulating) - I've never heard of this "ACT".

First of all secure the scene, set up a triangle! About helmet removal, it should be done by experts, but if you are obliged to perform CPR when the victim is not breathing you should remove or else he will die. The correct way is to be done by two persons, the one sticks the palms of his hands between the victims cheeks and the helmet while at the same time stabilizing the victim's spinal cord by placing his forearms on the victims chest. So arms are parallel from the chest up to the victim's cheeks. The other person stands at the top of the helmet, puts his hands around the rim of the helmet, where the ears are, and removes the helmet while stretching the rim to become wider. If there is a collar splint to be used it should be , if not the first person should keep supporting the spinal cord.

I came across an accident like this once when I was just starting to ride. The only things different from this situation was that the rider and pillion were conscious and had something broken. The car that hit them was no where to be found but the rider said that the bastard looked like a teenager. Maybe people in the UK are nice but when I was in that situation.. ZERO people stopped to help they all avoided us like the plague.

what i hate when I call 911 they ask too many questions on the phone before they send help. I've seen many where it took 15 min for ambulance to come 2 firestations 5 minutes away.
