Motorcycle ride through Cody, Yellowstone NP, Grand Teton NP, & Grand Targhee Resort

This great scenic ride on August 18th 2022 will take you from Cody Wyoming through the awesome extinct volcanic fields along Highway 14/16/20.. The rocks deposited from 12 volcanos comprise the Absaroka Volcanic Supergroup. The volcanic field is 60 miles wide from Buffalo Bill Dam to Lake Butte Overlook in the eastern quarter of Yellowstone National Park. From the Chinese wall dike near Wapiti to the Hoodoo's of the Holy City and Goose rock, the rock formations are just amazing. And you haven't even got to Yellowstone NP yet!.. We did the south circle around the lake then headed southbound to the Grand Tetons finally arriving at our resting spot at Grand Targhee Resort near Alta Wyoming. Come and join us for a ride through Geology. It's time to get your rocks on.
(we don't cover a lot of touristy stops, just the ride to and from)

Thanks! Yellowstone is an awesome place. Hwy 191 between Mammoth and Old Faithful is always the busiest and most congested of the park. The park is larger than most people think, and the speed limit is 45mph so it takes a while to get places. Take your time and have an awesome trip.

Good job on the video. I was up that way 5 years ago, came through the south entrance from central Ms. on my motorcycle. I'm wanting to do it again, because pictures, though you did a wonderful job, just don't do it justice. Safe riding and God bless!

That was great, thank you. I went through that route on the same day but in the reverse last August with my wife, daughter and golden. Found it very helpful when identifying rock formations along The Medal of Honor Hwy to East Yellowstone. What an incredible geological work of art, that whole area. Cheers

Love these videos! Just returned from northern Wyoming. I never get tired of this area. We went to the Bighorn National Recreation Area and got to see the wild horses and lots of Bighorn sheep. Thanks for your great videos!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the geology in that stretch before Yellowstone National Park. I am glad that you liked your travels through northern Wyoming and The Bighorns, they are awesome. We never tire of that area either.

The drive from Cody through the east gate of Yellowstone is one of my favorites. I love the uniqueness of the dry rain shadow area through there with the transition to the greenness of Yellowstone through the east gate. The sight of Yellowstone Lake and the basin surrounding it coming into view always gets me. Driving up on top of Lake Butte is a great way get a grasp of the vastness of the entire area.....Cheers

I use "Final cut pro" for editing. A lot of the plugins i used are from "Simple video making". The map I made in Motion 5. I use an apple computer to edit. 😊
