A better start to the day this time Tim, just as well, it doesn't look like there's much shelter on those endless plains when it gets wet and windy. Good to be able to see a bit more of the landscape again too, there are very few roads as flat and straight as that for more than a few miles in The UK.

It's really uniquely peaceful riding across the plains, Mick. Especially on secondary roads. Skirting the handful of large cities, it's quite beautiful, and the people are generally good. The weather can be Wagnerian: tornadoes, flash floods, hail, winter blizzards, minus 16 F to 100 F, rainbows, and seemingly endless sunshine. All the more so on a motorbike. It very much reminds me of being at sea.
