The brass writing for the original three films is so fantastic, and the performances from the LSO and HSS enhance it tenfold. I love all the material for Crystal Skull and Dial, but something about those first three have an insane energy to them that can't be matched.

Is it just me or does John Williams write the weirdest rhythms?

Most film scores end up having some weird rhythms because they have to be written along with scenes. Composers end up having to match pretty much perfectly to have the correct musical cues and little details to match up with what you see on screen. For example when indiana escapes with his dad on the motorcycle, the main theme for indiana randomly cuts in because of how they randomly popped out in the scene. Another example is when you see the nazis pop out behind the motorcycle wheel and the music suddenly switches from a triumphant theme to an almost darth vader like march.

@@cheezy3687 yes indeed. The original piece has a lot more but certain measures/beats got removed to match with on screen cues

He kinda has to to match the irregularity of the action
