Initially I thought the ECOTRIC Motorcycle Receiver Hitch Hauler Trailer Tow Dolly Rack carrier was cheap, but it did exceptionally well, and weather tested in the snow. It takes at least two people to load the motorcycle onto the carrier because of the tire strap.
Feature
-The rack attaches in seconds to a 2’’ Class II or Class III receiver, and it’s all steel construction allows for this unit to haul bikes with a curb weight of up to 1000 lbs.
-Other transports require you to struggle with pushing your bike up a ramp.
-Turn the crank and the cradle lowers close to ground level. Insert and secure the front wheel. Turn the crank in the opposite direction to raise the bike to the transport position.
-The entire unit weighs a very manageable 32 lbs. and measures 40"x8"x9" You can store it in your trunk or behind your seat in your car!
Note: This unit will not accommodate bike tires greater than 5 1/2" wide.

This is a great trailer as the video shows... I did a boxing and review video on it about a year ago and it has held up well. I've towed everything from the lightest, to the heaviest Goldwing without a loss. Just remember to use LUBRICANT when cranking. . GO501 did a great job showing the distance and adverse weather stability 👍🏽

Thomas, Thanks for the comment, if you get it just remember to verify the weight capacity of the bike, and the wheel width of the carrier you purchase will fit your bike. If you get it like, I did and disassembled take a look at the video, I posted on how to assemble it. To reinforce what Burke’s World said make sure you use a lubricant for the all thread and ensure it is something that can be used in the elements.

kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2PUYpZ3YptqrZI The key to the lean is fastening the bike to an outrigger like this man shows. No lean. Any build or design will not lean once you add these 4 straps and tie them to the outriggers that are welded onto whatever contraption is being used.

Wise Man, Thank you for the comment. A pointer is during turns it leans but that is normal, also make sure you put the tire strap around the wheel and not over the bar that the wheel fits in. this will prevent the wheel from sliding or being loose.

Burke’s World, Thanks for the comment, I enjoyed you video as well. If I would have seen, your video first I would not have freaked out on the first turn. I actually did use an all-purpose grease that is good in the weather, it is in the previous video I posted about how to assemble it. My carrier came fully disassembled. I was looking at the threads now and I believe the little bit of metal shavings is just residual form the making of them, kind of like when you get a new key made and it is rough to use for the first few times. Once again thanks and you made a great video too.

I don't trust those either.. That's why the ones I make are made out of the thick metal tubing that the entire reciever system is made from and I have support bars and welds all over .I weld picture and stunt cars for a living so I've built all kinds of crazy things. With mine the bike or whatever your hauling is safe the platform if fully supported and enterchangible with other platforms for what ever I'm hauling. Mine locks the bike in place so it cant fall over as you strap in on. And theres no sketchy ramp to push or ride up. A girl scout can load my gsxr 1000 by herself.

It doesn't swivel from side to side that's the only thing I don't like about it the bike leans over and when you go around the corners I would weld it up and make it turn and swivel from side to side for the price $130 bucks you buy it and just then you got to put a swivel on it it's worth it I mean how hard could it be to make it swivel not very hard just a couple of pieces of quarter inch steel and a pin so when you go around the corners it can turn then you'd have to strap the front end to that piece itself and put across bar on it a short one but it's a good idea even for long hauls if you make it swivel

If it doesn't swivel then it's not worth buying I suppose if you buy it you can always weld it up and make it swivel but I'm not taking the chance on anything that hooks my motorcycle to a trailer hitch and when I go around the corner it leans over I just don't think that's a very good idea because it needs to swivel so it can move side to side as you go around corners but for the price I suppose I could buy it and make it swivel myself

What are the laws for brake/ turn signals when towing the bike?
@MrCbell57
@MrCbell57 3 жыл бұрын
There is a gray area in laws now that govern the use of these. Some authorities I've heard will even try to ticket you for having one wheel on the ground. Stating you cannot tow a vehicle with an unauthorized two dolly. Since your brake and tail lights are visible with the bike mounted on the back, there is no need for added lights. However, someone may not see the motorcycle and end up running into it since there are no warning lights on it or flags. I would definitely be flying a red flag like on anything sticking 6 feet out of your truck or car. I like this video I just watched. No lean, due to the outrigger and the bike being connected at 4 points to the rig. kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2PUYpZ3YptqrZI

Cut a bevel on the end of a 2x4 or 4x4 to act as a ramp so you can load the bike with the carrier higher up. Didn't this thing come with directions? You should NOT attach those straps to the corner of your vehicle. When you make turns one side will go slack and the other side will pull your bike over. Who engineered that thing?

Kristian Pallone, Good luck with the Move. I just subscribed to you and look forward to seeing your video. The lean is normal it is where the pivot point is, if a trailer was on two wheels it would do it two. The one thing I will caution you on is do not stop in the lean because it will put unnecessary pressure on the hitch and receiver. It will also lean in turns and that is normal. Be careful with backing up as well, all the principles of towing a trailer apply to this. Lastly is your assembled or not?

What are you trying to accomplish at 2:51 into video? The angle of the carrier is almost vertical. Never mind I see. This entire system is kept together with one 1.5 inch weld! Did you notice that? But oh my this would never work if your bike was not running. I mean, good video. But dude I would stop promoting this. I mean, what would you do if someone died after their bike came off from broken welded area? Also, the lean is not natural. It is due to the pivot point and rake lagging behind the attachment point of wheel. Well yes it naturally does this for sure, but in no way is it natural to see it happen nor is it any good at all to have the weight of your bike leaning like this with the front wheel off the ground all the while and back tire trailing along on a different plane and path! Good job on hooking this up though. I like this video here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/n2PUYpZ3YptqrZI The outriggers allow the bike to stay vertical no matter what, and its basically able to pick up a non running scooter also. I think I will make the one the guy designed for $35 dollars and then add the outriggers to it like this video here has. The guy I'm talking about is kzbin.info/www/bejne/eX2TkKqCjcqjeKM. Or I really like this slick willy, but it is just not tough or strong enough. Especially for us big bikes. I have a Yamaha 1900 Road Liner. It weighs more than yours.
