Meteor rocks!! Just rode from Los Angeles to Vegas along the 210 freway to the 15 non stop each way. 550 miles round trip. Marvelous bike. Still can’t believe it’s only a 350 feels more powerful. I was able to maintain 70 mph with luggage for the most part. If you’re going up a grade and there’s a headwind you’ll be limited to 50 but that’s only one or two times .Super comfy bike with smooth engine even at high revs. I use the luggage that Chuck recommends in his video

Just got my Royal Enfield meteor 350 a week ago. Ofcourse it's now snowing and 25 degrees but spring will be here before I know it. I have never ridden a motorcycle before so I can learning the clutch and throttle on nice warmer days and will be taking the basic rider course through my state. Wife takes delivery of her fireball yellow in January!

Congratulations to both of you! How fun! Ya, when I got my bike, i put like 100 miles a day on her for the first couple of weeks. I've been riding for 30 years, but it's always exciting to get a new bike. It always feels like the first one.

Hey allow me to provide a silver lining. The bike is new, just ride short distances until it finishes its running in or break in period.. by the time Spring comes around, you’ll be ready for prime time!

You cover everything up so cleanly😮 I never do been washing my bikes like this for past 7 years. Luckily nothing happened but will cover everything from now on while pressure washing

Coincidence, I just washed my bike today! Though not in the manual, I also cover the speedo and Tripper display for good measure.
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
Yes, good move. The manual says not to spray water under the instrument cluster because there are "breather holes" under there. Since I have a windshield, I feel like that protects the underside of those well enough. It also said to remove the tool kit from under the seat. Mine is still wrapped in plastic from the factory packing, so I felt like that was extraneous.

I live several miles from a carwash, I would be afraid to wash it with the engine hot...am I right?

Thank you for your videos! I have the same color Meteor 350 as you. Wondering how to take care of the satin paint. You can't wax it or it will get glossy. What do you do?

Can you provide me review of the Bike ? I am a big guy should i get the bike as its only a $350
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for asking, Neville - YES! My bike review is coming very soon. I've been riding for 2600 miles now making LOTS of notes in different situations, and I'm just about ready to do a complete review. Please stay tuned!

How do u maintain a Matt black paint?
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
I personally have a spray-on cleaner/protectant that I use. The Arizona sun is brutal on paint, so I spray this stuff on every time I wash my bike. Here is the link: amzn.to/3De8YjV

what about the mileage? per gallon on your Meteor?

Not mine, my neighbour did his best 109mpg (UK) which is about 90mpg (US) now I want one :)

You should never use a high pressure jet wash to clean a motorcycle, can play havoc with seals, gaskets and bearings - washing away grease/lube etc.👍
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
Absolutely correct. The switch I chose was labelled "HIGH PRESSURE", but I never squeezed the handle on the sprayer, so I only got the LOW PRESSURE soap and water coming out. Thanks for the heads up!
@neosmith1663 жыл бұрын
I washed my bike yesterday. Hey by the way, you didn’t use an air blower to remove water droplets from crevices.
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
How did the wash go? No, I don’t use an air blower. I live in Arizona where things dry almost instantly.
@neosmith1663 жыл бұрын
@@BackRoadBikerChuck Went by the book. I first used foam soap to lather all exposed areas. Ensured that all the noted areas are covered with polythene just like you did. Then washed with a pipe. Next wipe down using 800 GSM micro fiber cloth. Using the blower function on my Vaccum cleaner, removed any water logging in crevices. Finally applied Liqui moly polish to paint and chrome and polished till I could see my face. And then you don't feel like riding again because of the unavoidable thought that it would get dirty again. But as motorcycle riders its part of the lifestyle - the riding and the downtime.

@@BackRoadBikerChuck LOL, I am sorry I should've mentioned the book as the RE owner's manual. I own the new Royal Enfield Classic 350 Reborn. It is based on the same chassis/engine platform as the Meteor. This is the RE launch video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hIO2o2mHfLSjgZI Just been introduced in UK but been in India since September. I got a bit over 870 kms on it so far.

I'd advise to be very careful with a pressure washer especially if it's using hot water, as it can take the grease out of the wheel bearing
@BackRoadBikerChuck3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, Kevin! Ya, like I say in the video, I only use the low pressure spray. Super important. Thanks for watching! 💙🙏🏼
