I would never consider Lemmy to have been a great vocalist by any means, at least in a "traditional" sense. He's not a guy like Freddy Mercury or Paul Stanley who could sing the rock but then turn around and sing pretty legit opera. But his voice was P-E-R-F-E-C-T for Motorhead. Just goes to show that finding YOUR voice is probably more important than mimicking some "standard" that's quite difficult to achieve. Of course, his stage presence and charisma were obvious assets as well.

He would still be alive today if he had gotten a prostate exam, but his homophobia got in the way. Why do so many Republican men fear getting their prostate checked because they're afraid they will "turn gay"? Science has disproven this hundreds of times, and it's a rare occurrence when it does happen. Lemmy chose to let himself die because of it.

@@carlosgrey37 That is your opinion.... Besides, I said "one of few bands" which means that I also hold other bands, like ACDC, in high regard. In the end, it's all subjective.... However, for me, Motörhead are the ones who truly started it all and this is disputed by no one in music. Without them, many other bands might have never even gotten out of their basements or garages! You can also hear their influence in many of the bands back then, but even more today!

You are wrong. Motorhead is talent not prodigy. A dirty bass played like a rythem guitar with vocals that don't fit any kind of choir bullshit. Just pure honest lyrics written from the writers heart and left open to interpretation to the listener and simple musical compositions dirty and load with borderline abuse on the tube, speakers and instruments with a vocalist any voice coach could trash but it's raw, soul bearing, energy transference to the audience and true to life and not faked, trained or refined. Just dirty overloaded tunes and a non classical trained voice and pure raw talent and basic music theory pushing the boundries.
