It is a better ride if you start at the other end. The switchbacks are not so severe. You get used to it. Be safe, have fun. I think the turn count is 420 curves in 44 miles There is a very large 4X4 recreation area not far from where you are, that is why you are seeing so many side by sides. You passed that Brushy Mountain State Pen Museum. It has a gift shop and a restaurant.

Thanks for the info, it’s pretty cool location and not as popular but the only downside was gravel by the crossroads from off-road toys
