I’m doing my very first stryfe and it’s kinda a nightmare I had no clue a dual stage required so much body work, but I’m not complaining it’s a great learning experience if a little bit ambitious.

Hey NNN! Love your videos, you definitely know your stuff. While I know how to solder, it may be helpful to newer folk if you could do a soldering tutorial in the context of the hobby. I also find it fascinating that you make your own batteries. It may be a bit advanced but I'd love to see how you go about it! Your channel has huge potential.

The Swordfish is pretty much Workers own version of the Stryfe that you're supposed to add everything to the shell.

I found a Stryfe at my local thrift store for a dollar. Whoever owned it before l got it really mutilated the battery box. I think the person cut the battery box completely out and tore the pusher out of the slots. Question,do you have or do you know where I can purchase an empty Stryfe shell and pusher so I can repair it back to working ?

@@sammyboi_fb4789 Well, I used to run a shop on etsy, selling a range of modded blasters,(and a lot of stryfes!), and I found that with a stock cage, motors, and wheels, you cant really get more than about 90fps, no matter what you do. Once motors are running about 30k rpm, there's no point adding more voltage, you need more crush. For 120 fps, I'd go with meishel 2.0 motors, bulldog flywheels and a 2s or equivalent battery pack. (like a 6 cell 2/3 A nimh pack). That'll hit in the 120s. For whatever it's worth, I've done about 80-odd flywheel builds over the years, so whilst I'm not an expert, I'm not talking totally out of the top of my head.

Is there any benefit to using a 10 amp or 20 amp switch over the 5? Are there any cons to using such switches compared to the 5?

Depends on how much current the motors are drawing. For lower current motors, like mieschel 2.0s, a 10 amp is fine. Fang Rv motors, might be better with a 21 amp. No downsides. (and a 5 amp should be ok fro stock motors).

I personally have used stock switches with stock motors all the way up to 3S before. It’s at 4s where they start to stick. I got away with a 3 amp switch on the 4S Monolith temporarily (switching out to the 5 amp soon). Never gone above 5amp but I might have to on the 4s Stryfe setup. We shall see! 😝

Revs the flywheels so they can eject the dart.

Oh it just handles more current which is better for the higher amp rechargeable batteries.

@@techcenter9191 Yeah, I saw that, just after I posted. I didn't bother calling him out because I try to limit my youtube wars to one per day, and I've reached todays limit. I agree, NNN does good stuff, in particular the almost "entry level" approach to modding. (I don't agree with every single thing he says-((batteries)) but so what? He's not had issues so far). Anyway, my take is not everyone wants to spend £50 on parts for their first flywheel mod, so it's a good option. God knows, by the time you buy a soldering iron and all the rest of it, it gets pretty costly pretty fast!

Yep no explosions, YET. Understanding battery chemistry, composition, specs, and application is crucial to performing some of these power mods. Common sense also helps a ton. I try to put everything I have learned into these videos, but I’m also still learning as I go, so it’s an exciting journey.
