I know I'm going to be slapped for saying this, but as an avid sports bike rider of 38 years, I feel compelled. When I see that bubble-face helmet at 1:30, I'm reminded of being too poor to buy good equipment back in 1983 when I started riding motorcycles and had a used Suzuki GS-450 S (cafe) as a first bike and my only means of conveyance as a student at Portland State University in Oregon. Because I couldn't afford anything but the worst equipment, I had to settle for a bubble-face helmet with a visor that snapped into place. It didn't flip up or down, but snapped into place and as you rode, if you turned your head to the left or to the right, the wind would catch the bubble and snap your head left or right accordingly. And forget protection. With the open face helmet, your face was left unprotected in a wreck, so hope that you never go down chin first! My 450 was underpowered, had a crappy single caliper front brake and a useless drum brake in the back and whenever I see these old British bikes (or the retro styled new models), I'm just not struck by the romance of it all. I don't see black leather and open faced helmets and think "that's cool!" I think, riding in groups sucks, riding to "be seen as hip" is dumb! I know, I'm going to be smacked. But I'm so thankful those youthful days of poverty and crappy gear are over and seeing these hipsters wearing gear that I would have thrown away back then if I had the money, just unsettles me. Otherwise, good video and nice music and thanks for sharing!
