These remind me somewhat of the GE phones by the General shape of the handsets and main base. The batteries also look a lot like the Sanik batteries they had. Not to mention the ringtones as you said.

It's been established that these are made by Binatone, who apparently licenses the software and maybe uses some other parts from Thomson. At least they use proper screens that don't break after a year!

I like the lighting in this studio better.. Apparently Motorola thinks you'll only misplace the handset from the main base--dumb design there.. Those buttons do seem like they have a nice feedback to them, but I imagine they'd be hard to dial without looking at due to there being no real separation to speak of.. Okay, as of 3:08 I don't like the lighting anymore! Motorola has a thing with batteries, there were a few models I believe that had batteries that weren't user-replaceable.. Setup BS? Seriously? How does something like that get past testing? I guess because there probably is no testing.. Batteries are likely on their way out if the charge level is changing that much depending on use.. Out of range tone is not a feature I come across often.. I don't see too much use for it really.. That is a nice screen on there, very readable.. I don't like it's use of all capital letter though, gives it a less friendly feeling in my opinion.. Those are in quite good condition, especially for being donated and sold through a thrift store.. The advertisements on that Weather Phone recently got changed.. They're so ridiculous now.. Overall they don't seem like terrible phones, but not something that fits my preferences.. I'd definitely be interested in seeing a range test on these.. And I'd also like to know what that speaker in the base is for, it's got to be a ringer.. The hardware I can't tell without seeing it, but the software definitely came from the same company that writes for GE..

Lighting in here gets pretty bad when it starts getting dark outside... Still like Panasonic's handset paging the best, where you can page just the missing one or all of them. I never really dial when looking away or while the phone is on anyway. There's probably some testing, just not by a separate entity but rather the developers themselves. Not like a separate entity would guaranteed make it any better though... Yep, even after charging all night they're still doing that; probably why they were donated. Will get some new batteries. Yes, I saw your battery video, got all the info I need. :) I make phonebook entries on other phones and use all caps or traditional capitalization depending on how important the number is, so the fact that they're all caps on this one isn't so great for me. But at least it has a phonebook, unlike the 28031s. I'll get back to you about the speaker once I find out. I don't think I can do range tests here, it's a pretty crowded neighborhood and I have a feeling all the other 1.9s around here will make the range quite inaccurate.

That is a good system, and you can access it while the base has a handset in it! What a concept...... I used to use the phonebooks, but once I got the Google Voice I mostly stopped using it.. The only purpose the phonebooks served me was the CID match, and since Google Voice provides me with that from my Google Contacts, I no longer can rationalize spending all the time it takes to put entries in.. I'll still add a few I dial regularly like the weather forecast, but that's about it.. I don't think it would be an issue, certainly there's far more hashing in the band created by all the cellphones everyone has in their houses.. If it's a concern, you can do a relative test, for instance compare it to something like the Uniden 1560s.. The Motorola set I had was quite poor in range, didn't come close to the Uniden..

Yeah, if I had the Google Voice that's how I would do it as well. But for a regular landline service, it's nice to have the phonebooks. The range can make it to my basement from the top floor and to the top floor from the basement, and that's all the range I will ever need, which is why it's not a big concern. Even the backyard only goes out some 50 feet from the house, and there's no privacy so I wouldn't be on the phone out there anyway. Because there's no privacy anywhere I may do a range test, but probably not on video.

Can you pair the base with another brand DECT6 headset?
@Xyspade2 жыл бұрын
No, each brand has its own proprietary registration.

@@Xyspade do you happen to know if they can be paired with other models within Motorola line up like the L402C?
