Forge Blow-off Valve - Mini Cooper S (R55/R56/R57/R58)

Installation shown on my 2008 Mini Cooper S Clubman.
It will fit second generation Mini Cooper S and Peugeot 207 Rallye.

I have this installed. Sounds nice. Nice 'ping' sound on higher revs...similar to HKS. 0 engine codes without no remap.

@@THBULLDOZER N18 is F56? N14 R56 N14 Cooper S has recirculation valve from factory is all I know. (consists of a paper diaphram which can split)

+Minipic just FYI, I am running a stage 2 Manic tune, so I am not sure if you will see a CEL with stock ECU or not.

+Minipic if you just want the noise you can get the much cheaper adaptor that fits to your oem diverted valve and sounds the same as the BOV.

I wouldn’t try to do it unless you have some experience working with cars. And as a mod, it’s only useful to dump hot air if you are tuned and making more than 14psi of boost.

You can try but you might get a code thrown as the air mass sensor is expecting that air back instead of it being discharged to the atmosphere.

if only you would have added a NM boost gauge adaptor while you were doing all that! lol i got the "go fast bits" bov, and it doesn't sound half as good as this one :/

Let me guess, only turn on the light when you press hard the throttle. Could be a problem with the o'rings, could be missing pressure.

No, but if you put an intake kit with a large cone filter you will hear the turbo flutter.

If it flutters means something isn’t right. You don’t want it to flutter! Might have something loose or backwards

Correct me if I'm wrong but when you have a bov it's not supposed to flutter because that means air is trapped inside the turbo

I Have a completely stock 09 R56 JCW, will this work on it or will a ECU remap be needed?

It will work but you might get an engine light on as the MAF is expecting to see that air again, instead of releasing to the atmosphere.

+mcjessen1234 check forge motorsports to see if they offer one for your car. If not, check other manufacturers like HKS. I am sure someone make one that will fit.

Only noise. But if you mod your car to make more power, this will hold the extra boost.

Wastegates can do that but on the MINI, an ECU tune is the only way to “turn up” boost.

The Alta spring is for the recirculating valve. I don’t know if it’s a fit or a good idea in general to put in the forge BOV.

+Marcelo Jabali 2017 F56 you mean, right? You need to find a BOV that is made for your car, not sure who makes one. The general idea should be the same.

No, the Alta spring is for the diverted valve, which comes off if you put a bov in.

It makes cool noises and releases the air into the atmosphere instead of recirculating to intake. So that hot air goes out. Also, if you have a tune that increases the boost, it will hold the boost and not leak.

Hi! So I have been lately experiencing a flutter and low idle in my car. Sure as hell... hooked up the computer pulled the code 28AA. Shear air circulation valve, plausibility... Sure as well we the symptoms really line up with failing blow out valve and mini has release a recall for this part recent if not mistaken... I would rather just fix the problem and at the same time give my car a bit of an upgrade but also not kill the car due to incorrect amount of airflow. Will this fix the failing blowout valve? Were there additional pieces you purchased that didn’t come with this kit for the upgrade?? 🙏 thanks!!

Nothing additional is required. And yes, this replaces the recirculating valve. Few people have reported a check engine light coming on if you do not have an ECU tune, but it’s possible that an installation mistake was involved as it comes with a solenoid that simulates the OE spec.

yeah, had the same problem, was driving about 130km/h in cruise controle, massive motor fail, lost all power. Got to the side of the road, restarted the "beast" all good again, when i got home i went back to the stock one. Do you have a link to the ebay page? greetz Bensh
