I disagree personally, the older one is definitely worth less money but it does have amg specific camshafts and responds better to mods than the s500.

The old one still worth buying imo because they’re much cheaper and still have the same engine as the W210 E55 and W203 C55 which are pretty nice cars….. only prefacelift W220 I wouldn’t buy preferably are the S600 because they make less power than the W140 S600 and still cost a lot to maintain 😂

Love this . Motor week refuses to show its Mercedes Benz s class reviews from the 2000s ..so glad u post this. People who think this car is slow ! Well I have a black one. I can keep up with vets, chargers ,mustangs , and any other amg car easily.. this car weighs in with passengers at an astonishing 6,398-6,900 pounds and is 17.8 feet long !!! And will still move all that in 5.9 seconds. This isn’t a sports car ,it’s actually a luxury executive limousine. For 👩🏼‍💼🧑🏻‍💼👨🏾‍💼💼📊

@@acrabadacra3916 Had an E55 same year, was a younger guy back then around 18-19. I used to come home with rubber gunked up in the rear fender wells ever day racing everyone who would on the way to work or back home. Did burnouts and donuts in every empty parking lot. Never changed the oil in the year of ownership and redlined the thing and pinned the 155mph electronic limiter everywhere I went. Only ever had one issue. I stomped the break hard once and locked up the wheels - broke a sensor/switch for the brake underneath pedal when someone cut me off. Was like 50 bucks and 15 minutes to replace. Most reliable car I've ever owned and it was the one I took the least care of. My favorite was picking on all the mexicans in their slow as fuck 350/370z. Hilarious.

No, the car doesn’t weigh nearly what you claim. Its 0-60 and quarter mile times are only marginally better than the regular S500. And today, it’s slower than your average F150 pickup.

Slush box? The 722.6 still powered V12’s up until this latest generation 😂 yes, the last generation W222 S65 had this 5 speed, in 2020.

This was the weird 2 year period when the S600 and S55 AMG were both NA cars that were slower….. but in 03 ofc they twin turbo the S600 and Superchaged the S55 and had the S65 in 04…. With the 7 speed trans instead of 5 speed

You have to know LS430 is slower, no need to ask me why, I owned a SC430 which is lighter than the LS430 but it's still slower than the Base S500 MB. So I sold the SC430 and get the S55.
