Motorweek 2005 Saab 9-2X Road Test

I own two 2005 Saabaru's...1 linear and 1 Aero body trim. These vehicles are quite impressive and they run forever with minimal maintenance, even though I personally stick to a factory + maintenance schedule. The Saab 9-2x is a nicer version of the Subaru Impreza WRX in my opinion with nice leather seatin, leather steering wheel, heating front seats, climate control, HID headlights, better sound deadening, BBS or Enkei wheels (optional for Aero trim), rear diffuser and a tuned suspension w/better dampening.

Back when I got my new 05 Pontiac Vibe, during the days of “GM employee pricing”, I immediately wished I realized I would have considered the Saabaru with the GM pricing. Still, loved my Vibe, but I was wishing at times for that Saabaru

The Saab 9-2X was spawned from General Motors owning Subaru. GM would sell its stake in Subaru to Toyota in 2005

You said the 2.5 was n/a, 2.0 was turbo... Then say the 2.5 suffers from turbo lag??? 🤔

The 2005 Saab 9-2x Aero model came with the 2.0l Turbo flat 4 but the 2006 Saab 9-2X Aero model came with the 2.5l Turbo flat 4. The 2005-2006 Saab 9-2x linear model came with the 2.5l N/A. The Aero models also came with the Subaru WRX STI steering rack, the STI steering rack was an upgrade from the WRX model. The 2.5l Turbo flat 4 motor was only offered on the STI models and the WRX models retained the 2.0l Turbo flat 4's. Saab's version of the WRX(aero model) was comparable to the WRX version of the Subaru Impreza but exceeded Subaru's version of the WRX. Saab offered leather seating, climate control, heated seats, windshield wiper de-icers, HID headlights, better sound deadening, optional 17" Enkei or BBS wheels w/Aero model, dual fixed cup holders in center console, STI steering rack, rear diffuser and upgraded strut dampening at all 4 corners.
