I have a 1988 GT in my garage. I ordered it from the dealer in August 1987. I still love it to this day.

@@FordPickUPRedhonestly, the Fiero GT doesn't really require any more power than it already has, it's plenty quick enough with a manual.

Ahh one of my dream cars! I drove a few of these and they were such a great quick and nimble little car! To bad GM killed it because the Fiero was on the heels of the Corvette and thats a no no in GM land!

If these were kept in the Pontiac lineup going into the 90s, I could easily see a 3.8 supercharged engine with the promised 5-speed manual or even the 3.4 twin cam V6.😇
@JrGoonior
@JrGoonior Жыл бұрын
The 3.4 was based on the 2.8, it would have the Fiero an evil little car.

mine is a 86 GT with a Ferrari kit on it. Just trying to find the correct ride height right now. First it was too high, then too low, now I'm finding a good place somewhere inbetween

Why didn’t GM put the Quad4 engine in this car?

If you didn't mind having a 2 seater with an automatic transmission grand am V6 Buick engine was better than the 2.8 V6

Bring this car back . Use an ls4 running one bank of cylinders ...the other half like the Ducati supermono ...f40 6-speed transaxle .

I HAD AN 86.5 WITH A 5 - SPEED GETRAG GERMAN TRANNY , THE OTHER WAS A 88 WITH THE T-125 AUTO BOTH GT MODELS , THE SUSPENSION UPGRADE FOR 1988 WAS WORLDS APART FROM ITS INTRO COUNTERPART , I WOULD LOVE TO TAKE AN INDY FIERO AND A 88 COUPE , SWITCH THE BODY PANELS , INTERIOR ETC… PULL THE IRON DUKE SHAVE THE HEAD , RAISE THE COMPRESSION RATIO , STROKE THE CRANK , RE- SIZE SHOT PEEN THE RODS OR RE - WORK 455 SUPER - DUTY RODS FOR STRENGTH , DRILL THE CRANK OIL PASSAGES , BALANCE THE WHOLE SHE BANG !!!

It’s just crazy what was considered quick back then. 8 seconds to 60 for a sports car is funny.
@deloreanman14
@deloreanman14 Жыл бұрын
Considering most family sedans would struggle to do it less than 12 and vans were in the 14-18 second range, 8 was quick. Most diesels in this era would take 20-25 seconds to hit 60.

What's crazy is the same comment over and over. It's all relative to the era. Why don't people understand this?

It's about 7.5 in reality which is plenty quick especially for the mid 80s
