Bought this exact x3 diesel used couple of years ago. So far so good. Just been changing the oil every 7k miles and have had no issues with it so far. Love the diesel 4 cylinder in this. Plenty of pick up and go ( especially in sport mode) and one of the best MPG's of any SUV around. DO NOT go by BMW's recommended oil change intervals. Those are way too generous. That is if you want your timing chain not to implode.

Do you still have the car?

@epbski no I needed something bigger for the family. Swapped it for a x5 35d. Straight six 3.0L diesel. Deleted emissions equipment on it and been running like a champ. Averaging about 8.6L/100km mixed driving. Very happy with it.

@@ivalterbaptista2305 So would you recommend buying a used diesel X3 if the price is right?

Can't compete with Audi Q5 TDI. Q5 TDi has a V6. More HP and torque.

Transmission is 6, not 8 gear for the diesel.

+wysiwyg248 You're wrong , its an 8 speed - in the US at least. www.caranddriver.com/reviews/2015-bmw-x3-xdrive28d-diesel-test-review

+rcpmac My bad, most BMW's now use the automatice 8 speed. You are right.

The Infiniti QX-70 would destroy this on the track and be right up there with the Cayenne. In some tests, it beats the Cayenne.

They're not even in the same class or purpose and the infinity is the ugliest SUV in history.
