Wow... shopping for another convertible ride. BUT , the gas mileage on this is less than my Lincoln Towncar got [ which was 26mpg that you expect on a large car , not so much on a car half the size ] . Which was also much plusher of a ride .Too bad . slick looking car though ..

It’s so stupid to make an optional engine that is bigger and more expensive yet only provides 10 additional HP over the stock engine…..what the heck were they thinking?

Power figures for those two 6 cylinder engines (3.5ltr & 3.9ltr) are very lacking in power compared to other 6 cylinder engines of the same years…for example the 3.5 V6 engines in the Honda Accord and Nissan Altima both available in sedan and coupe form each made over 270HP!!! Both were fwd and could also be had with 6 speed manual transmissions.

You’re a little off with the accord in 2007 they were still in the 7th gen which topped out at 240hp the Altima however did have 270 hp

i dont know how to feel about my g6. (im more of an import person) i have an 07 GT with the 3.9 V6 (BTW it had 240 hp not 227) it looks awesome, especially with a coat of wax its beautiful, mind you mine is black with a total of 22,500 miles lol. but my biggest complaints are the poor gas mileage, i average 13 maybe 14 daily. this cars dashboard is made out of the same material as the water bottle sitting in the cup holder. also the ergonomics of the interior are just all off and odd. the interior is disgusting and is not for people who want quality. speaking of quality the ride is EH. its ok; it can be semi pleasant, then be cheap and rickety. also reenforcing the cheap theme is the loud clunky rattles of the car. shut the door, it rattles. turn the car on, it rattles. pull in reverse, the car shakes and squeaks. i dont drive it much, but seeing the g6's current track record i dont want to! especially now finding 8 recalls on it and being notified of none, by GM. i just like the good sound system and its relatively powerful 3.9 V6; it sounds pretty burly. plus its got a large interior, for all four occupants, even with my top up.

So instead of whining about it why keep a car you don't like SELL IT! BTW....your 3.9 does NOT make 240HP,,,,,,,,,227HP is correct. The 3.5 V6 made about 217HP.

it is only 240hp with a manual transmission... automatics are 227hp

The regular coupe GTP is 240, convertible is 227, so it was correct

I've had my G6 convertible for 8 months and it's already been more reliable than the Mercedes SLK it replaced... and the interior is DEFINTELY holding up better than that car. My glove compartment actually stays shut, the headliner isn't falling off, no paint is flaking off the center console, and there's no leak over the passenger seat every time it rains. I'm very happy with the car and I can't wait until spring so I can put the top down again.

@@danmccarthy4700 i sadly had to finally replace the G6 last year, the transmission went with only 41k miles. Bought it in 2013 with 19k and got only 22k miles out of it over the near decade of ownership. Wouldnt say it was babied but didnt expect her to go when she did; the transmission was working one day and then not going into any gears the next. Replaced it with a 22 GMC Terrain SLT🤓
