Heh, I got this car as a used option for around 14k (including the fees at the dealership). However, one needs to note that since its an Atkinson drive, it really struggles at high altitudes (Colorado). It is a very good entry level used car, has the Lexus reliability, and really does have good noise cancellation for highway driving. I did not think anyone else here would even have this car, since it sold so awfully, but I'm rather surprised at how well the general opinion of this car is. It is obsolete today, but back then in 2010, I think it really was a groundbreaker for the hybrid luxury market. If you are crazy enough and can afford it, I would recommend swapping out the engine used, called the 2AR-FXE, for a much newer engine, the M20A-FXS. It has less displacement and yet has outputs more power, 173 hp compared to the 2AR's 143 hp, so it really is an upgrade on power and fuel efficiency. I would also think about upgrading the motor and battery pack so that this hybrid becomes a humble beast by today's standards. I wish Lexus could revive this car now that there is a much bigger market for greener cars, and the technology is there to really bring out the best in what would be a compromise between luxury and eco. This car, despite its first steps being full of stumbles at the time and is really obsolete now, is what made me a loyal Lexus fan.

Because the "Big 4" hybrid drivetrain that Toyota has on the shelf is the Camry Hybrid. The performance of this car is very good for a hybrid.

I’m the new owner of one and it was a one owner car, well maintained and serviced by the same dealer who the owner bought it from, I don’t have the front camera or heads up display option, but the options I have are great and it good on gas so I can’t complain it’s my first Lexus and I’ll be keeping it for a long time.

I would still prefer an IS250. More power, Rear Wheel Drive, better interior, better exterior, and all for about the same price.

@DualofChaos I'd agree with you.... however, the HS250h has more technology in it than the IS lineup. from it's 0.27cd, to plant based plastic interior, sonar cruise control, lane departure warning system, and 10 airbags including both driver and passenger knee bag, and rear side airbags and curtain airbags. I'd say this is definately something worth a test drive and quite honestly a smarter buy.

I would gladly pocket the 10 grand and take a FAR better looking, sportier, nearly as luxurious, and more fuel efficient Ford Fusion hybrid. This is nothing more than an overpriced, dolled-up Corolla/Prius. Plus, it even manages to out-ugly the Prius and Corolla!
