I went to see the show at the Shaftesbury theatre - was out of this world. The acting , singing and dancing was simply brilliant. It took me back in time to my youth. Michael Jackson, Berry Gordy, all the acts were sensational. Really loved dancing at the end- all the audience loved really enjoyed this part of audience participation. I never knew how integral Smokey Robinson was in the Motown that we know and love 👍💝💘💗

The Great Fish What about reports that there was lip syncing? Many songs only snippets. Too much emphasis on Ross and Gordy? Just asking as I have been trawling through reviews. I am considering going but have been put off a bit.

@@scoobytysonube there was no lip sync in the show i watched if there was to be honest it was so good i didnt notice :) they didnt have the full song but it was a story not a live music show some of the songs were played in full and also they shows the songs that made Motown what it was to be honest you should never listen to other opinions and try it out and make your own choice :) but as i said it was amazing and i recommend it

This was totally awesome!!!! I have been a Motown fan since I was a young boy and it felt so authentic. I was even lucky enough to go on stage with 'Diana Ross' and sing... it was truly AWESOME 😄

I went last night, been looking forward to it so much. This is only my Mrs and my opinion but we thought it was absolutely awful. We thought it was boring and frustrating. There was too much pointless acting and when we eventually did get to hear a song it was just a part of song and not performed particularly well. We've been to loads of concerts and musicals and had brilliant times but this show was easily the worst show that we've ever seen.

We've been to several musicals and thoroughly enjoyed them, Joseph and the technicolour dream coat, phantom of the Opera etc, we are open minded and easily pleased but this show didn't resemble a musical, we thought it was very dull, I'd been looking forward to it because I grew up with tamla motown and soul music, it's my favourite music, I am passionate about it, I repeat this is only our opinion.

@@lutherbuckhurst3887 Joseph and Phantom don't have a lot of dialogue so you might just have that taste in musicals where you go for the music more than the storyline, don't hate on a good musical just because you have different taste :)

This was he worst show I have ever seen and I've seen a few. The whole show didn't flow and none of the songs were ever finished or dialogue was stuck in the middle of them. It should have been advertised as a love story between Diana Ross & Berry Gordy. Far too much emphasis was made of the riots in America and not enough about Motown itself.
