100% agree with the long life of motoz tyres. Bought some for my bike ages ago and its still going strong. Considering that my rides mean travelling up to 60% on road I am shocked at just how long they are lasting. They also feel just as grippy as the day i put them on. If they ever do wear out I will be buying them again!

@@TractioneRag I do have an issue with the front knobs being angled from front to back. but a bit of work with a knife to flatten them out and they should be good for another six months i reckon, haha.

Dallas, I agree with most of what you say about Motoz except the pricing, last week I checked out the cost of an 18 in Motoz gummy at Fortnine, shocked at 225.00 Cannuckistanay pesos .OUCH

+1 for Motoz tires. Loved my tractionator Adventure rear. But I hated my RallZ front tire to the point where I took it off after 6 or so rides (first time I've ever had to do that), but maybe I was pushing it more than what it was intended for?.. with a bad taste in my mouth from the Rallz, and that they were hard to get last year, I'm Trying out Mitas right now. Will happily go back to Motoz when I need something for a road trip, as I really like the compound, and I'm going to try a Motoz enduro tire once I burn off a d606 and shinko on the 250. I really love the brand as they have a great range like mentioned, and are fairly priced (usually, for some reason here in Canada I found A Trac Adv over 100 dollars more than my Mitas E-09 dakar when I was shopping. As I write this its dropped down to 375, so I'm not sure why the price is fluctuating so much.

Dallas, I’ve only been using them since 2014, but a great grouping of rubber for sure. I’ve used most all of their offerings on my bikes and some models many many times I really like ‘em and haven’t found a mediocre model at all. MotoZ is a top tire company…

I used to run the MotoZ exclusively as well when we had a local distribution that jumped on them early on. They are decent tires by today's standards, but other manufacturers have focused efforts on offering a wide variety of gummy hybrids to meet various types of terrain and riding styles. The MotoZ, at least here in the U.S. have significantly increased in price and are now at the top end of the price spectrum. I have run just about everything out there: Kenda Equilibrium, Kenda IBEX, MotoZ Arena, MotoZ Mt Hybrid, MotoZ Tractionator, Dunlop AT81EX, Shinko 505, Shinko 525, IRC V33S I'm an admitted tire snob I run the V33S now and I feel it hits all the marks and has some really solid longevity and is about $60 less than a comparable MotoZ Arena or Mt hybrid. Edit: just checked RMATV. MotoZ xtreme mt hybrid $158, MotoZ Arena gummy $150, IRC V33S Gekkota gummy hybrid $90

Agreed. MotoZ is expensive. I heard in Australia they are cheaper. I'll give the IRC VE33S a shot. Have you also tried the Kenda Parker DT (rear)?

@@fynn8252 No I have traditionally run gummy hybrids and before those I ran trials tires. No road riding, strictly Oregon and PNW woods.

I have been using motoz tractionator it rear and st front on my Gas Gas ec250 and Husaberg 450 for a while now find them to be priced right for the quality and longevity. I will be trying the desert ht rear on the 450 next time for the rocky terrain I've been currently riding

MotOZ make some amazing ADV tires, that are grippy on all offroad and on road surfaces and last for the whole trip. As for enduro, I often don't even know what I ride, I often get hand-downs from racers who want fresh tire from the race and at my level, it hardly makes a difference. There are a lot of good options, I'd just take what is on sale.

Loved the arena hybrid gummy…except that it is the tallest tire I’ve ever tried. It jacked the back end of my already tall PDS KTM too much for my vertically challenged inseam. The durability was phenomenal though…I rode it flat for 30km without putting a mark on it. Knobs lasted longer than any other gummy I’ve used.

If a tire costs less and lasts longer, I don't feel the need to keep using it, until it's bald. I'll give these a try. I run Kenda Parker rear tires now.

I'll have to check them out. I'm still running Dunlop D606's on my derpbike with knobs missing, really abnormal wear because of the terrain I ride (coal sand, but with mud and A LOT of rocks), but I have yet to find a set I'm willing to try yet. I got over 3500 miles out of my tires, and about 2800 miles of that are on dirt. Also, don't tempt me with a good time. I'll sell the house to load the bike up and ride BC for a week...or forever.

I find the motoz tires better than cheap brands for this reason I practice static balancing and slow wheelies and have found that the motoz tires are better because it is easier to balance and go in a straight line while wheeling because of their stronger wall construction and they last longer.

"Hooked" on tires, I caught that pun (intended or not). DOT cert is nice. Sometimes we have to hop on a road to get from trail to trail. Like to make as few waves as possible with the local authorities.

Interesting, these are literally the most expensive tires I can find. I’m not that good, been running gummy tires. Looked at the Motoz, and the price made me go wtf? 48 hours later on a gummy probably anything would be better. My riding buddies never go past 10, think I’m cheap. Just failed my first hill climb with them ( 3-11 made it). Of course I blamed my tire, as anything less would mean it was me:). In all seriousness, I notice the riders were consider the be good pretty much just need a tire that spins when they ask it too. Good vid, might pay the extra 50 bucks just to see if I like a harder compound

Its really dumb when people say "Its the rider, not the bike". Yeah we all know that, goes without saying. Problem is I am the rider I am, and I can't change my talent level except with more practice, and if I choose crap equipment my practice time is wasted in frustration. I can't just choose to be a better rider anymore than I can choose to be taller. That's why I want to know what the best equipment that I can afford is so I'm not fighting a handicap when trying to learn skills.
@TractioneRag
@TractioneRag 5 ай бұрын
Can't agree with this statement. You can't get any taller no matter how much you practice. You can practice rding and become a much, much better rider. The longer you are around this sport you will witness, first hand I'm sure, of some old, fat, out of shape guy on a clapped out bike with shite tires, run rings around you and your riding buddies. I've witnessed this so many time it has become immutable truth.
