"Ve-yehi Rachameychu" was Motty Steinmetz's first hit-song (in 2013). Although originally composed by Eli Beer and performed by him and other musicians as well, it was Motty Steinmetz who made this song widely popular.

We chose our translation of the lyrics over other 2 translations from the internet, because we wanted it to be very, very close (word for word) to the original text that the Great Rabbi Aharon of Karlin had written. In Judaism, behind every word that is used in prayer, in a psalm, in Scripture, there is a reason and a meaning. There are many drashot (Torah lessons) about why one word was used and not another. So forgive us, if this translation sounds a little "heavy" or strange. But these are the words the righteous author chose to use.

Motty Steinmetz has an inexplicable gift of transmitting concealed peculiarities of different Hasidic trends, having comprehended them from inside their cores. History of Hasidic thought in every intonation, refined vocal turns verified according to poetical style of the Polish (Byelorussian) Hasidic tradition, which Rabbi Aharon ben Yakob belonged to. Although Rabbi Aharon’s master Rabbi Dov Ber ben Avraham of Mezeritch (18th century) was the successor and disciple of Baal Shem Tov, the Polish-Byelorussian Hasidic tradition acquired its own concealed hues and details, including the attitude to rebbe as to a miracle worker (Elimelech of Lizhensk). Western Ukrainian Hasidic movement was making for spiritual independence from scientific rabbinical institutions - compare with Rabbi Nachman’s Hidbodedut - communication with the God without mediums. Of course, that was partially the indirect influence of local cultures, however, it’s worth to be studied. Motty Steinmetz makes us feel these mysteries in our historic memory in sub-conscience, bringing reconciliation and reason to emotion of every Hasidic tradition.
